Long answer: The issue doesn't lie with the justification in-game, but with a fundamental bug in the game engine that causes anything from save corruption to crashes due to desyncs from relationships.
Anyone is free to take up the mantle of this mod, just credit us for our work (and the 3rd-party art assets).
the skymind stuff, like cores that can be extracted and swapped between robot bodies or ways to convert human brains into cybernetic ones to implant in a robot instead? Shoot, altered carbon has needlecasting now so remote control is also possible in such a system I guess. No clue how it was done though.
Or alternatively a altered carbon compat addon for ABF. Probably simpler to make and would give players access to something somewhat similar to skymind without having to fix this if they use altered carbon too.
I hope it's still available. It was super cool.
i have hope it will be fix someday, or find a workaround.
love the work your team has done, i love the AT mod to the point i find it hard to enjoy a game without it, so thanks again <3
1. I've wondered that too, but it's baked into the duplicate function which handles everything from surrogates to mind duplication, to core upload. The bug is fundamental to the game and has even happened with the obelisk from Anomaly in 1.5. This would most likely need to be fixed in the game engine.
2. If the minds are linked, every change you make to one will also happen to the other. It's bi-directional.
3. Just stay on 1.4 until this is fixed - That's what I do :]
