Description
B42 changes:
  • plastering requires new item called plaster trowel
  • applying wallpapers now uses wallpaper paste instead of glue.

Have you ever thought why you can't make your walls look like walls of vanilla houses?

With this mod you will have a wide variety of options to make your house look as you wish both inside and outside. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION.
Works for maps that built with vanilla tiles.
Main goal of this mod is give the ability to have any walls without using MoreBuilds+ and rebuilding the wall, so if you live in vanilla house your wall stays invincible for zombies.

Full options list:
  • Plaster. I added an option to plaster all brick walls, all wooden walls, all cinder block walls. You will need a bucket of plaster and a trowel (Hand Shovel item, NOT a brush) and 4+ carpentry. You can not plaster walls covered with siding or tiles (ceramic or stone), for them you have next option. It doesn't replace vanilla plaster option for player-made-walls.
In case of misunderstanding this is Trowel: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Trowel (couldn't add image to text, sorry)

  • Remove siding or tiles. If your wall is covered with siding you can remove it and get wooden wall, using a crowbar or a hammer. If your wall is covered with tiles you can remove tiles and get plastered wall, using hammer, club hammer or ball-peen hammer.

  • Apply siding. If you don't like plastering your walls you can apply siding. Use a wooden plank and a wooden mallet. You will get brown siding, which can be painted in any of existing paint colors.

  • Wood Stain. If you prefer plain wooden texture, but want a different color you can apply a wood stain on a wooden wall. Use a paint brush and a wood stain. You can see swatches on screenshots.

  • Wallpapers. All plastered or painted walls (not siding, bricks or cinder blocks) can be covered with wallpapers. Swatches are on screenshots. Vanilla and Manik's wallpapers available. Requires wallpaper and wallpaper glue. Wallpaper glue can be only crafted from 5 glues, water and an empty water/pop bottle.

  • Tiles. All plastered walls and garage walls can be covered with tiles. I added some additional textures to make bathrooms more diverse or have your own brick walls. Requires a trowel and a pack of tiles. Swatches are also can be seen on screenshots.

  • Paint. Added 16 more paint colors (all painted walls you could see on the map). You can paint not only plain walls, but all siding walls, all brick walls and all cinder block walls in all existing colors.

  • Mouldings for walls and doorframes (demo). You can remove or apply mouldings and decorative panels to make you walls double textured. Can be found in Carpentry menu. Based on More Builds code. This option will be upgraded in further updates.
An error can occure while removing some mouildings on glass walls. Don't worry, its not critical, but I don't know how to fix it yet.

  • Fireplaces. I needed this option and thought it would be logical here. You can build a fireplace with a stone frame as all vanilla fireplaces have. Fireplace shelf is now a table so you can place items on it. Can be found in Carpentry menu. Based on More Builds code. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS BUILDING FIREPLACE over stone or brick "center" piece make sure you DO NOT stand on same square that you want to build.

Additional info:
  • Mod works in SP and MP. Can be added to existing saves and servers.
  • All new paints, tile packs, wood stain and wallpapers spawn as usual paint tins.
  • One paint bucket can paint plain walls, siding, brick or cinder block walls.
  • One paint bucket and plaster bucket now lasts longer. (UseDelta = 0.01 intead 0.1)
  • Changing wall color or texture now removes dirt, graffiti and cracks. (Huge thanks to Skizot for "Repair walls extended" mod, from which I got the code for cracks!)
  • Wooden walls can be disassembled
  • All color swatches can be seen on screenshots. Might be little different according to lightning in your game.
  • Replaced textures of 3d paint tins so they are more similar to resulting wall color.
  • Replaced tile for white painted wall with whiter one. In vanilla game plaster and white paint have same swatch. I don't like it, so now plaster matches ivory paint color.
  • Non-standart window walls and half walls are not yet plasterable or changeable. Will fix this in further updates

Ah, understood. Well, either way, hopefully the problem was on my end. All new paint cans show full.
Birget  [author] 4 Jul @ 11:46pm
@Corona2172 yes, they show it because I had to change all paint items, so they can be used for much more walls than vanilla

@Birget: Not sure what happened, but now when I find new paints in new areas, they are full. All paints found seem to be from your mod. I also am not sure why the original paints went from full to about 5%, but they remain at that level. So.... not sure what that means but.... yeah haha. Quick question: Once your mod is installed, do ALL paints show as belonging to this mod? Even vanilla ones? Thanks!

You are amazing, thank you for your time and hard work!

@Corona2172 i'll check and fix if this is related to my mod.

@Birget- I just had one more question: Do you know why every paint can I find in the world is down to about 10% of paint remaining? Every can I had in my base, and all cans found in the world are almost empty now. Any ideas? I'm pretty sure this wasn't vanilla behavior.

Awesome, thank you so much for the info and the mod!

@Corona2172 hi! First question - I'll fix this someday, for now its ok,
second question - yes its fine, i made this to reduce plaster use.

Oh, last question, in B42, is it normal that I can paint directly over a vanilla wallpaper tile without needing to plaster it first?
Corona2172 22 Jun @ 11:20am
Thank you so much for this mod! I was surprised that, in B42, we can paint Vanilla plastered walls without needing a mod. Initially, I thought this mod would be unnecessary. However, I quickly realized that you still can't paint over wallpaper in vanilla for some reason. So, thank you for this still!!!!!

I do have a question though: Is it normal that, when I right click a wall now, I see two instances of the options to Paint Symbols and Paint. Any idea why it is showing it twice now? I figured one was the mod, and one was vanilla options, but for some reason the mod allows the wall painting option twice instead of 1 wall painting and 2 x paint symbols. Just curious.
