So i was using the 117F in a backpack and a 148 in the uniform
I had removed/disabled acre 2 standard from the modpack on both clients and the server at the time but still had the same outcome
I will try another test soon see if it does the same
I don't think backpacks can be preconfigured with ACRE settings, that's a TFAR thing only.
That's weird, it has always worked well for us.
Are you sure you are now running only the Fork in your modset? Running standard ACRE2 simultaneously is a probable cause.
When you say radio packs do you mean backpacks preconfigured with ACRE settings in the configs or the AN PRC 117F?
I set the long range to arcade and standard to LOS multi path
I ticked the boxes for vehicles and pack to be counted as long range and i did the GSM to the Both option
When i connected radios to the GSM or used vehicle mounted radios it still had the same outcome
The Fork is independent from the original ACRE2, so you only need the Fork active.
As of right now (might change as we start developing plugin improvements), the Fork reuses the original plugin .DLLs, no need to reinstall or switch plugins.
You need to configure which antennas count as "long ranged" and will use the Signal Model LR setting. You can do that via appropriate CBA Settings.
In your issue, which settings did you set?
The standard CBA settings should allow radiopacks, vehicle racks and GSMs to work with Signal Model LR. If you set that to Arcade while keeping the normal Signal Model setting on LOS-Multipath (or others), you should notice that those radios now largely ignore terrain.
Hiya
In regards to the separate LOS/pathing for long range radios and other antennas i have a few questions as when teste this didnt work for us
1. Do you have to have standard ACRE 2 installed?
2. Does it matter if team speak uses the same acre 2 plugin or are they separate?
3. Do you need to configure the Antennas that you want to count as long range somewhere specific or is this already defined IE just using the 117/vehicle ect in CBA?
The main feature we are really interested in is the ability to set GSM/GSA, 117s and Vic radios to be able to perfrom way better better over a standard radio such as a 152 or 158 however when we set the LOS for long range radio settings in CBA it had no effect and still had the same range as a 152
Using someone's backpack radio is already possible via radio sharing [acre2.idi-systems.com] in the official ACRE2.
Our Fork also implements connector ropes, a WIP feature that will probably be in the next public version. This visualizes using the radioman's backpack radio with a black wire rope, ACRE Animations adds nice handset models and animations to that.
it'd be sick to pull off a phone off someone's backpack radio, but i'm being a bit naive since I don't actually know the internals of TFAR vs ACRE2 heh
