Oriental Pearl Radio & Television Tower, the splendorous landmark of modern Shanghai, is located at the bank of Huangpu River opposite to the Bund. As the old television transmision tower could not meet with the rapid growth of Shanghai, both in terms of population and building height, a higher transmission tower was built as a replacement and completed in 1994. The Oriental Pearl Tower earned its name from its eleven spherical structures of various sizes, supported by three vertical columns and three supporting columns. In addition to its function as a television transmission tower and a tourist attraction (just like other colossal towers in the world), the Oriental Pearl Tower is surprisingly multi-functional, consisting of a revolving restaurant, a hotel using rooms in the spheres, a history museum, an indoor roller coaster and more. Oriental Pearl Tower also hosts a number of global and local events, including a climbing event of fitness run on New Year's Day.

Oriental Pearl Tower

Grants 50000 Gold (at standard speed) when completed. All cities may build any number of districts and purchase districts with Gold. Theater Squares, Commerical Hubs and Harbors provide +10 Tourism. Must be built next to a River adjacent to a Theater Square with a Broadcast Tower. 3 Great Works of Music slot Unlocked at the Telecommunications technology.

Supports English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese.

Notes

This wonder is not designed as a "competitve wonder" to provide potent bonuses for the race of victory, but an attempt of a "game finisher" for the winning player to build (or buy) their ideal cityscape before ending the game. Its powerful effects are offset by a high production cost and a harsh requirement of late-game techs and locations. If you can actually build it, have fun!
