also i'm confused by the comments a little bit.. does this amplifier just make the visual effect huge and keeps the damage effect localized/vanilla or does it only increase the damage area up to 3 blocks and still increases the visual effect several more times?
if the damage effect isn't at least almost as wide with maybe damage falloff towards the edges of the beam then i'd rather just use vanilla beams
but if it is or can be made to have a similar damage area as the beam visually hits even if the amplifier lowers damage a lot then i would at least give it a try and play around with it :p :)
anyways thanks for making the mod and reading through if you do read through all this ramble :q.. and sorry for any google translate irritation :p
