Description
What is this
This is my crazy vision of a weapon overhaul. Crazy? Yes even for me. All tiers should be somewhat relevant till the endgame and you should be more than willing to mix different tiers in your squads. Because of this, this notmod is Single-Build only. Many weapons are in theory added in this overhaul but unobtainable. I use them mainly as items for Tesla Loot Mod. Other weapons are only available from loot crates of ABBA or POIs if you run Let there be POIs mod, so i suggest you use at least one of those.

The Tiers
Conventional - base
Laser - Conventional Damage, Aim Bonus, Unlimited Ammo
Magnetic - more upgrade slots
Coil - no innate reloads, good damage, chance to stun for 1 action, pierce
Beam - earlier possible, lower damage, crits can blind
Plasma - good damage, burning, shred, less aim, more crit
Improved Laser - pierce, unlimited ammo, damage like magnetic. Optional Side Grade
Improved Plasma - great damage, more shred, more burning, less aim, more crit. Optional Side Grade
Sonic - good damage, high rupture, not buildable

Story Progress needed
This is the new change ... progress through the tiers now forces you to do story Missions.
  • Laser Weapons only need Skulljack project, which has been made faster
  • Magnetic Weapons need a completed Alien Encryption Research
  • Coil Guns need Part 2 of the Codex Brain Shadow Chamber Project
  • Beam Weapons need the Shadow chamber have completed the Forge Stasis Suit project.

More Thoughts
The Mod is still in a very early status, so any balance suggestions, bug feedback or similar is very much appreciated.

Infiltration Settings for CI still not nearly complete. If you want to contribute there i would be very glad.

Compatibility
Should be compatible with pretty much everything. If you realize incompatibilities please mention it. Some things will be overwritten by this mod, or another mod. I originally wanted it to make fully compatible with [WOTC] Mass Effect Weapon Overhaul by XPand ... but his decisions in some areas would just throw of balance completly so i took over a lot of his ideas instead. Highly recommend to use [WOTC] XpanD's Abilities And Assets. I only play CI so probably only really working with CI. At the very least this is a single-build items mod.

Many thanks to the authors of Strategy Overhaul Bridge: ADVENT Pathfinders, Strategy Overhaul Bridge: ADVENT Warlock, Strategy Overhaul Bridge: Ballistic Shields, Strategy Overhaul Bridge: Biotic Class Redux, Strategy Overhaul Bridge: Combat Knives and Strategy Overhaul Bridge: Long War SMG Pack. I incorporated their changes in this notmod for now (changes in the future likely) so you don't need to run those bridges together,

hey Stukov, after 3 campaigns with this mod I must say, this is the best weapon overhaul, hands down. Everything works and the variety is amazing, also gating tech behind story is great. SO thank you very much. Couple of minor issues a ran into:
- I have laser and coil strike and battle rifle available since begining
- I also have copy of laser and coil strike and battle rifle, that is unlocked after reasearching proper tech, but they are free and doesn´t have bonuses (no scope and russian roulette)
- I have 2 types of smg and something with category carbine, that looks like smg
- I also have crossbow available (T1, T2 and T3) that is free

For several special abilities of Weapons. Like for example Sonic Boom on Sonic Weapons or Explosive Shot on the Zen

+PistolWeaponCategories= sawedoffshotgun is causing both abilities from saedshotgun doesnt loose ammo, so you have infnite charges, disable this works

It would but that's not how you are supposed to play the Game with this overhaul. And he would be quite weak for the Rest of the Mission. Also it might Even catch you into an unending circle if hitchance is 0

I just realized this
Since laser weapons have infinite ammo, wouldn't a reaper equipped with a laser vektor rifle and superior repeater using banish and annihilate be super op? Since anything they shoot are guaranteed to die when the repeater finally procs, even possibly annihilating the entire map on their own

+SimpleItemRewards should be +SimpleDeckRewards for (TemplateName=Reward_SkvCorpses, RewardName=SKV_Corpses)
