Description
The Wisconsin Northwestern (WNW), better known as "The Milwaukee Belt". is my fictional railroad.


History
The M Series are 4-8-2 Mountains built by the American Locomotive Company between 1926 & 1933 for the Milwaukee Belt Railroad. They were use to pull the Atlantic Coast Limited, which it ran between Chicago, Illinois, and Lima, Ohio. one of the M-3's (5367) had a speed record at 140 MPH. The 4-8-2's will pull the Atlantic Coast Limited until E Units took over the train in 1954. the M Series were reassign to Freight Service until they were retired between 1955 & 1957. only one 4-8-2 have survived, no. 5367 is on static display at the Franklin Institute of Science in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Preservation: There are no surviving M-1's


M-2

Build Date: 1927 - 1930
Builder: ALCO
Numbered: 5320 - 5366
Retirement Date: 1956 - 1957
Preservation: There are no surviving M-2's, however one 1 Tender was saved from being scrapped, no. 5360's tender is one static display at the National Museum of Transportation in ST. Louis, Missouri

Build Date: 1933
Builder: ALCO
Numbered: 5367
Retirement Date: 1956
Preservation: Preserved by WNW, and it was donated to the Franklin Institute of Science in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where it resides today.
