描述
the Element 2 is an electric bus produced by Australian bus body manufacturer Custom Denning. The company was founded in 1935 as "Cycle Components Manufacturing Company" (CCMC), which would later become Custom Coaches Manufacturing Company, producing bodywork for buses primarily for private operators. Through various changes of ownership, the company would then go through multiple name changes, settling with Custom Coaches in 2004 untill 2018 when it fell into administration for the second time in 4 years. It would be purchased by the Dunn Group, a company with bus/coach operations in the UK and Australia, with Denning Manufacturing being acquired a year later.

The Element was first announced in 2021, and is a full-size electric bus, with hydrogen fuel cell versions planned in the future. It has also been announced that the Element will be offered in markets outside of Australia, with plans for the type to be demonstrated in the UK in 2024 being announced in November of 2023, in hopes that their existing ability to compete with Chinese brands such as BYD and Yutong will be equally successful abroad.

The first example is expected to arrive in the UK in January, with a further 3 in February to go to a Rotala group company, the Chief Executive of the group being the owner of Custom Denning. There has also been a concept render shown of an Element 2 based double-decker in Bee Network livery, so it seems this design may hopefully become a familiar sight on the UK roads soon enough!

This mod represents a single door Element 2 with british style licence plates, set up to work with the E-Bus DLC as an electric vehicle.


This is my first mod for this game so some things might be a bit scuffed, but hopefully this is the beginning of many more mods for this game in the future!

@kwizydude another fault on my part, forgot to tick a checkbox in the mod editor, just published an update that should solve this :steamhappy:

Is any one having issues where they cant paint the bus in the ingame painter?

sorry if this messes up people's fleets by having previously dual door vehicles lose a door, i think my moral to this story is to not release mods super late at night :steamfacepalm: i also know how the modding process works now too so whatever my next release wont be so chaotic :steamhappy:

That is a fair point about the dirty fumes, i forgot those were a thing (my current save has cleaning set to be rather regular so i've not experienced it myself) and as of right now it'd spew fumes out of where the second door should be. As for the capacity thing, something that also didnt cross my mind with this (i first uploaded this mod at midnight so i was rather tired and this morning was more towards patching a few issues i found)

I'll take a look at changing it soon to have a dedicated dual door version now

I LIKE IT! Looking forward to other ANZ buses on here :D

However I would like to suggest that a proper dual door variant should exist, with dirty fume coming out when it needs cleaning (just so all my buses would have the same behaviors for "broken" and "dirty" etc.) as well as having different cost & capacity

For now I think I'll only buy single door unit with this file. Thanks for making it

perfectconstellation you can edit the texture to be single door, thats what ive done and it seems the model is flat there which is perfect for the texture edit to single door that i done :D

this is certainly a lovely bus, one that is not standard for the uk but my company will be making very common in the uk scene! amazing model and beautiful design

@comypotato i might consider further Australian buses depending on what sort of resource materials i can find for making the meshes (diagrams/blueprints and other reference images), though my main priorities will probably be buses that are operating/will operate in the UK, but i certainly wont be ruling out any other nations in terms of what i create :steamhappy:
