[XFP] Template: eXtended Faction Pack

Description
Empty template for eXtended Faction Pack format.

But why use this ?
  • You can prevent scaling of battleships into tiny fighters.
  • Pirate-only variants can be added
  • You can assign different ships to all roles in game
  • Supports Class System, designs can be locked to specific M size

Compatbile with Base game

Extended format can be used for everyone

Vanilla players will see all ships/stations in game.
Those will be randomly assigned and scaled to arbitrary size,
just like Vanilla Faction Pack system works.



Building Tips
Use unique names for .xml files. Avorion will override ships from multiple packs, if their filenames are identical.
  • Use shields - Xavorion can remove them if needed
  • Use any material - Xavorion will change it if needed
  • Hangars should be added to Carriers
  • Consider ratio of Shields to Armor, game will balance total Durability
  • Don't worry about Energy/Rotation too much, NPCs will receive minimal working values if needed

Novakhin_Sheppard building tips:

Turret-bases:
  • use normal turret bases. edged ones will be ignored! (this is for weapon-placement only. turret-designs will also be ignored)
  • cover the sides of the turret-base-block where you don´t want the turret to spawn

Turret-Amount and Special Roles:
  • Turret bases amount (depens also on ship roles) : M1-M3: ~4 M4-M8: 6-14 (you can place more but they won´t be used)
  • Artillery role Ships: M1-M3,M5 use a SINGLE coaxial weapon / M4,M6-M8 use a single normal weapon
  • Bombers use a single turret (no coaxial)

Balance:
  • Full-Armor will higher the difficulty and limit railgun usage (i prefer partly armored ships now that you could shoot in half with precise shots..theoreticly. (70-90% hull)
  • use ogonite/avorion material to build. like that you can see the shield/hull stats for the late game. (if you use iron/naonit to build, you could end up with a real monster lategame)

actually ai uses turret bases but no turretdesigns (and only the normal block ones, not edged)

Nope, Xsotan did not receive faction packs. They are left as in base game - too many missions, events, and DLC that could break from that.

Not really, game just picks turret locations, and scales guns to tiny size if needed to fit.

We don't have a chance to see guns on NPCs anyway

Sorry for the spam but another question I had was is it possible to get npc ships/stations to use the turret bases and turret designs instead of placing the turret on random spots all over the ship/stations?

This might be a big if but do you think it's possible to implement the capability of building your own headquarters like the npcs? Like if you build a headquarters you get to make a home sector and build it the way the npcs do, If that's possible at all to do with Avorion's coding and what not.
