Description
Too much Ore, but too little Food? Why not sell some Ore and buy some Food!

Credit for the idea goes to the Resource Trading (Neutral) mod by Skirata.

I threw this together for personal use, but thought I would upload it for anyone else to use as well.

In terms of features compared to Skirata's mod.
1. Resource Trading was moved from edicts to the tactics box that appears in the top left
2. Purchasing Research isn't a thing in this mod. (Might add it later depending on how I feel.)
3. Price changes, 100 Resources now cost 50 Influence, but only sell for 40.

That aside, I don't play all the factions in the game, nor do I own them all. So, if there happens to be anything broken let me know so I can fix it.

The files are extensions of the base faction file so anything that changes that shouldn't break my mod, but that also means that it will only work for base factions.

If you want the trading system for custom factions you're free to make it yourself, or you can ask. I'll put together a version for separate custom factions if I have the time. Any I create for personal reasons, or at people's request will be linked here after they're made.

Alright, Necrons should be fixed now. As it turns out I accidentally overlooked the Faction when I was checking to ensure everything was working. They were completely missing the Ore Trading ability and the Energy Trading ability wasn't properly implemented since I changed how it was coded while making the abilities for other factions.

TLDR: It's fixed now, thanks for letting me know it was broken.

Great mod but I noticed when I started a necron campaign the trading options were missing. Might have something to do with the fact that necrons don't have food as a resource but idk just letting you know so you can check it out if you want.

That's fair, I might look into the possability of sending resources between allied players.

idk man, after playing for so long you crave new features. implying that the many allies ive had run into shortages mid game that i have many of makes it even cooler vs foreshadowing our downfall.

Thanks, but I would have to disagree with you. The idea that something similar to this should have been in vanilla game would rather balance breaking. The ability to exchange resources in Gladius opens up the possibility for many different strategies, but also empowers strategies that already existed. A good case for this would be something like Hero Spam. The ability to simply sell resource would certainly make acquiring heroes a lot faster. It also strengthens strategies that forgo early Eco in favor of Influence buildings as you can simply purchase whatever resources you find are at deficit. All in all, it's a very interesting topic to think of and honestly. I'm kinda glad something like this isn't apart of the base game in my opinion.
