Skill Tapes: Glassmaking

In 1 collection by Monkey Magic
Skill Tape Series All-in-One Collection
20 items
Description
Based on Crawling King Chaos' Skill Tapes mod, this mod serves to add VHS sets for the new skills added in B42. I have done this because there does not appear to be any vanilla VHS that relate to the new skills. Like original sets inspired by the above mentioned mods, these can be found in VHS stores around the map.

B42 added six new skills to the game, including Carving, Glassmaking, Knapping, Masonry, the new version of Metalworking (Blacksmithing) and Pottery. This is the Glassmaking set.

Please Note: This mod requires Skill Tapes: Missing Codes to funtion at this time. If/When the devs update the short codes to include this perk, the mod will be updated to reflect these changes.

@intnox - I would suggest disabling all mods barring Skill Tapes: Glassmaking and Skill Tapes: Missing Codes to check your local copies are working fine. Then add the remaining mods until you find the one causing the problem.

Any mod that adds to, or changes recorded media files can potentially break the skill tapes series. This includes VHS tapes of course, but also mods that add skills, and then add their own VHS, and overhaul mods that change a bunch of stuff.

Lifestyle: Hobbies I mentioned previously breaks all the Skill Tapes series that require Missing Codes, and this has to be fixed by loading Missing Codes first, then Lifestyle, then the Lifestyle: Hobbies Missing Codes Patch I made.

Another potential conflict would be mods that add flavour VHS tapes. If you still can't find the problem, make a link to your mod collection, and I'll take a look (provided it's not like a billion mods)

Hello MonkeyMagic,
I reinstalled and still not working I can confirm that after reinstalling all the vhs are giving experience, but glassmaking is the only 1 not working.
I dont have any other mod that could interfere with glassmaking.
I only use recovery journal but all the other work.

@intox - B42's default settings only alllow XP from VHS up to the third tier, so if you're already at that point, you won't receive anything. Additionally, this is one of the Skill Tapes Series that requires the mod Skill Tapes: Missing Codes to work.

Last time I checked, this mod was working fine, but I'll have a poke at it and see

EDIT - Works perfectly fine with just this mod, and the required mod. Works perfectly fine will all the other Skill Tapes Series enabled. Works perfectly fine with a bunch of other mods added...

I suggest you unsub/resub this mod, in case you have corrupt files. If that doesn't work, go through your mod list and disable mods that also adds/changes VHS tapes, to see which one is causing the issue.

Also, if you have an error report, please post a link. Thanks.

Addendum: On the off chance you have Lifesytle: Hobbies installed, please add the new Lifestyle: Hobbies Missing Codes Patch to fix the problem this causes.

I can confirm that the tapes are not giving experience, just error.
I have all your other vhs mods and only this ones is giving problems, the other ones work as expected.

@Ind0ctr1n3 - Nope, all I did was update the mod.info to include more information. The ID remains the same, so this should not affect any existing games.

Sigh.

Author, I don't know what you did with this, but your last update doesn't work properly. You probably didn't update, but gave it a new ModID. This causes already running games to screw up with other mods as it deletes everything with the old modID and turns off all other mods causing those to delete everything as well.

Please don't do this again, it's a real hassle to get everything properly functional again afterwards.

I have answered this question multiple times on others of the Skill Tapes series. Short answer is no. Reasons are because: separate so people can choose which series the want to add (on Apocalypse for example, there's no point on metalworking tapes for a Metalworker, coz XP is capped at tier 3) and secondly, I don't wanna - the amount of data in the file would be a pain to go through for fault-finding reason.

Would it be possible to request a complete collection modpack? You've got like 9 of these mods and it would be super awesome to just add them all together in one package.

No one saw that typo where the description stated this was the Masonry set, right? Good, good... >>
