Tigermen of Cathay

Description
Tigermen by official lore make up a significant portion of the population of Cathay. In ancient times, the beastmen who once were marked by chaos were purified by the sacred flame of the dragon emperor.

This mod offers 9 new units for all Cathay playble factions, as well as 2 new building chains and landmark for Village of the Tigermen. Additionally this mod offers 2 new agents (assasin and tank roles), legendary hero and melee focused lord.

Unit Overview

Tigermen - hybrid shock infantry. They offer all the essential infantry variants, dual daggers are ideal for slicing through infantry and can also be thrown while on the move, the shield variant is highly versatile and comes equipped with heavy, long-range bows. The spear and javelin variant excels at countering all manner of monsters.

Steelpelt Tigermen - armored shock infantry. Massive curved blades cleave through any armor, while halberds bring down any colossus, and heavy shields withstand any onslaught. They also carry a small supply of bombs to stagger the enemy before the clash.

Tendua Assasins - elite shock infantry, honed for cutting down enemy ranks with ease. Their shurikens are coated with a potent yet basic venom, while the poison on their blades erodes enemy armor with every strike (Wheeping Blades). Their buildings provide a steady income, but the ruthless methods they employ to amass wealth destabilize the region.

Tigermen Berserkers - relentless shock infantry with unbreakable discipline, feral speed, and an overwhelming charge bonus. Their smaller size compared to cavalry allows them to crash into enemy anti large spear walls without hesitation. Wielding massive warhammers and chain maces, they shatter armor and turn the battlefield into a blood-soaked slaughter. Recruited exclusively from a landmark settlement deep within the plains of Cathay – the Village of the Tigermen.

Bomberhulks - the feral warriors of the Monkey King, these mighty gorillas serve as auxiliary forces within Cathay’s armies. A hybrid unit of monstrous infantry, they unleash a barrage of bombs upon their foes before charging into melee, crushing the enemies of the Emperor with their bare hands.

Chandra’s Vanguard - hero unit, warriors of the Ind caste devoted to the mighty goddess Chandra, patron of demon slayers and the bane of the undead. Clad in heavy armor and wielding a great shield, they rain down magical arrows from a spectral bow before cleaving monsters into splinters with a sanctified blade. Their abilities are focused on the eradication of daemons and the undead, with their final blessing allowing them to summon Chandra’s own mount lion onto the battlefield.

Tendua Shadow - the finest assassins of the enigmatic Tendua clan, a formidable force in the shadow plays of the East. On the battlefield, they excel at eliminating isolated infantry targets, utilizing a deadly arsenal of ranged techniques. Their ultimate ability allows them to execute any infantry hero or lord with less then 50% health in a devastating long-range strike. However, they are highly ineffective against large foes.

JadeClaw Warlord - blessed by the Emperor’s all-seeing jade stone, this warlord offers an alternative, more ferocious path for Cathayan forces. The Tigermen do not adhere to traditional Yin-Yang tactics, instead focusing on the sheer versatility of their infantry. This warlord enhances the overall strength of his army, wields a formidable array of ranged abilities, and can unleash battlefield-wide buffs that drive his warriors into a berserker fury. His ultimate ability calls forth a blazing comet, and from its smoldering ashes emerges the Scorched Shields - warriors whose shields are blessed by the sacred flame of the First Dragon.

Cloud Walker - Legendary Hero, from the mist-wreathed peaks of the Azure Monastery descends a warrior unlike any other - a battle-scarred panda monk, once a legend of past wars, now a guardian of balance. Scarred by bloodshed, yet bound by visions of Chaos, he joins your cause not for glory, but for the salvation of kin and harmony. Begins at your side from turn one for any Cathay faction.

F.A.Q:
q: Why do i need these submods, Mixer unlocker, Audio Mixer and Champions Of Undeath: Audio Reservoir?
a: Mixer is universal mod for compatibility with other mods. We could make this mod without it, but it would not be compatible with the vast majority of other mods. Sound mixer uses same logic, but for game sounds. Champions Of Undeath: Audio Reservoir is our audio pack for all COU mods. Work of our dear voice actors as usual is insanely good, please check it out!
q: Can i play without those submods?
a: Currently yes, but there will be no landmark and no voice audio for units of this mod.
q: Caps system? But why?
a: Its good way to demonstrate their limited numbers - after all, there are far fewer Tigermen in Cathay than humans. Bomberhulks(Gorillas) is the only unit that not affected by caps, they got increased hire time instead (2 turns).
q: This unit is so op\so weak
a: Please elaborate in comments, a good balance is the direct responsibility of the mod developers, the more opinions the better.
q: Why is this mod is almost 1gb heavy?
a: This is only beggining of our project, called Tigermen Tribes, files there will be used in the future, as Tigermen full factions with much bigger roster in IEE map in lands between Cathay and Ind.
q: Where i can contact your team?

gongoozler cause to balance their high dps with low hp pool, and their lore (their population is small according to the loading screen texts) (also the reason is how bad the lod system on all asset editor modded units, better to keep low number to keep the total number of polygons per squad like in vanilla). So they are in the middle of aspiring champions and chosen

r mod is so cool, but why is the unit size at a weird number of 34?

This is really incredible work you guys have done. Now, I do have a question: I use the Tabletop Caps mod, and I wonder for sake of compatibility if a toggle option for your caps system could be added? In any case, you've done beautiful work, and I'm very excited to see what else you do!

Yes hyena models will be used. The Tigermen faction mod will feature them in the future as playable units/characters that belong to their own faction.

Its nice to hear yall are working on a main faction mod but I didn't get an answer earlier. I asked about missing rigid models for many of the non tiger units as there are tons of wsmodels and materials and animations for them and everything except the rigid model file, some units even work in battle and are just invisible due to the missing model. are those units and characters going to be completed for the main faction or are you planning to toss them out? If they aren't going to be part of the main faction will they be added in here or in a different mod? also hyena matriarchy is neat but isnt what im asking about.
