Nolfol Light Tower - U.S Coast Guard Light Tower

The Nofal Tower was build in 1967, to replace the Aging Nofal Light ship that was build in 1902, She was build in 3 diffrent pieces and was loaded onto a barge to be assembled at the location, She was build with Crew Comfort in mind, and was quite modern for her time, She held 6 crew members omboard at her maximum Capacity, She had 2 beds for guests, In 1979 the Light was Automated, But the crew was still kept there to maintain her, Along side her in 1967 was build a small Tender, the U.S.C.G Nofal, That served the Tower as a tender until 1997, In 1997 the Tender and Tower was abandoned and all valuables removed, as GPS systems became more advanced, Even after retirement in 1997 she was kept in good condition by the coast guard until 1999, when she was fully abandoned, in 2008 a team with camera's visited The now higly unsafe Structure, with permission from the coast guard, This was the last time anybody was legally omboard her, in 2012, She collapsed into the ocean under her, From then on she became a popular diving location, While the tower was abandoned, the Nofal Tender Ship was turned into a museum in New York.
