Vampire Coast Unit Pack: Rise of the Brinewight

Description
“From the depths they stir, no longer content to haunt shipwrecks and forgotten coves…”

Description
This mod expands the Vampire Coast roster with 10 thematic units to bring more depth and variety to your undead piratical legions. Inspired by shipwreck, necromantic fusion, and the mysteries of the sea, this mod adds:

  • Mid-tier melee and special ranged infantry;
  • Beastial and light shock cavalry;
  • Necromantic floating shipwrecks (!!!).

Tried to balance the best I could, however, let me know your opinion on balancing (this is my first mod).

Complete Roster

Infantry

Brinewight - "Once mortal scourges of the sea, these cursed wights now serve undeath with chilling discipline. Armed with rusted blades and barnacle-crusted shields, they form a resolute frontline."
Function: Tier II Sword and Shield Infantry to hold the line.

Brinewight (Polearms) - "These salt-soaked sentinels carry corroded halberds salvaged from sunken holds, their undead strength driving each swing with grim purpose."
Function: Tier II Spear Infantry to hold the line.

Abyssal Lurkers - "Dragged into the darkest ocean trenches and left to rot, these cursed corpses were forgotten by even the sea. Over centuries, their flesh fused with coral, barnacles, and writhing tentacles, reborn as grotesque hybrids of undeath and abyssal life."
Function: Tier II Light Damage Dealer Infantry

Monstruous Infantry

Sea Troll - "Native to the storm-lashed coasts and sunken trenches of the world, Sea Trolls are amphibious horrors—taller, leaner, and fouler than their land-born kin."
Function: Tier II Single Entity Monstruous Unit

Ranged Infantry

Deadeye Brinewight - "Undead sharpshooters raised from the corpses of disciplined corsairs, these wights grip their muskets with eerie stillness. Necromantic energy anchors their aim, making each shot unnaturally precise."
Function: Tier IV Sniper Squad Infantry

Grogthrowers - "These cursed wights wield crude contraptions that spew a hellish mix of flaming rum and kerosene. Their foul brew ignites with a cursed blaze, setting enemy ranks ablaze and choking the air with acrid smoke."
Function: Tier III Flamethrower Infantry

Drowned Leadbelcher - "Once brutish mercenaries aboard doomed ships, these ogres met their end in watery graves—only to rise again, bloated and barnacle-encrusted."
Function: Tier IV Cannon Infantry

Cavalry

Deepfang Horrors - "Spawned from necromantic nightmares, this grotesque beast is a fusion of drowned warhounds and ravenous deep-sea predators. Jaws split unnaturally wide, flesh stitched with scale and sinew, it moves with unnatural speed across land or surf."
Function: Tier II Light Cavalry

Abyssal Riders - "These cursed pirates charge into battle astride nightmarish steeds—twisted amalgams of rotting shipwreck timber and skeletal horse bones, bound together by dark necromancy."
Function: Tier III Medium Shock Cavalry

Warmachines

Haunted Shipwreck - "Torn from the depths by foul sorcery, this splintered fragment of a warship now floats eerily above the battlefield, held aloft by wailing spirits and spectral winds."
Function: Tier V Flying Warmachine

Observations

  • Not lore-friendly;
  • Compatible with majority of the mods, only adds new entries into the units, don't change any mechanic or replace any vanilla file;
  • Not yet fully balanced and eager to know your thoughts around it;
  • Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

It's cool, I just wish someone would make a mod that focuses more on the Living side of the vampire coast. For example, noctilus has a lot of Mortal fleets that follow him, Including a chaos dwarf vessel with it's own crew. Far as i can tell, Luthor harkon is the only one who exclusively uses undead.

Drowned leadbelchers is a really great idea. That unit should be basegame

Any chance of an SFO submod??

Small problem ( i think ) with the deadeye wights. Their shots do not produce any smoke or flash effect.

Hey I really like this mod, is it possible for you to put it in Warhammer 2? If not entirely then maybe just the infantry component?

Thank you much :)

Somehow having this mod enabled, makes my skyjunks when playing as Cathay look like the flying haunting shipwrecks

A great mod, adds some depth to a faction which sadly is likely to stay barebones through lack of lore and being a DLC. I like how you've added "lore plausible" things not ones that feel out of place.
