Proto-industrialization expanded (release 1.3)

Description
-Compatible with v51.13, June 2025)
-A slight expansion on the proto-industrialization side of dwarf fortress.
-Adds 13 workshops total.
-Allows for basic chemistry, milling of stones, craftable sands, extractions of compounds, chemical mixtures, and more efficient forms of production through machine workshops.

-Does not require DFhack
-Finished release, untested for compatibility with other mods.
-Required for “Dwarven Firearms 1.3” to function
(if you find any bugs or have issues, please comment them here thx)
(1.2-worldsaves won't load while running ver 1.3. That's intended due to 1.3 breaking 1.2 worlds. Either generate a new world, or revert to ver 1.2 if you want to to load 1.2-worldsaves)

FEATURES:

–—-WORKSTATIONS—---
[Workstations require: Mechanisms, Bars, Blocks, and Logs in varying amounts to build]
[Workstations output more product than traditional methods, with “steam workstations” outputting the highest amounts]

========

Chemistry Station: Used for chemical compounds/mixtures/reactions.

========

Weaving Shuttle: Upgraded form of cloth production, turns 1 of any thread into 3 cloth of the corresponding variant. Requires mechanisms to operate

Fourdrinier Machine: Upgraded form of paper production, able to process leather/wooden pulp into paper. Requires mechanisms to operate

Milling Machine: Upgraded form of creating specific items, mint coins and create mechanisms, anvils, grates, and pipes more efficiently. Requires mechanisms to operate.

Pulping Machine: Process wood into pulp for papermaking. Requires mechanisms to operate
[wood + salt = pulp]

Stonecutter: Upgraded form of processing boulders into blocks and creating stone items, create tables, thrones, cabinets, doors, hatches, coffins, and pipes more efficiently. Requires mechanisms to operate.

Sawmill : Upgraded form of processing wood into blocks and creating wooden items, create tables, thrones, cabinets, doors, hatches, coffins, and pipes more efficiently. Requires mechanisms to operate.

========

Steam Loom: Steam equivalent of the “Weaving Shuttle”, requires magma for operation, highest efficiency cloth processing

Steam Milling Machine: Steam equivalent of the “Milling Machine”, requires magma for operation, highest efficiency milling. Has the ability to create metal armors at extreme efficiency

Steam Paper Machine: Steam equivalent of the “Fourdinier Machine”, requires magma for operation, highest efficiency paper processing.

Steam Pulping Machine: Steam equivalent of the “Pulping Machine”, requires magma for operation, highest efficiency pulp processing .

Steam Stonecutter: Steam equivalent of the “Stonecutter”, requires magma for operation, highest efficiency stone processing.

Steam Sawmill: Steam equivalent of the “sawmill”, requires magma for operation, highest efficiency wood processing

(Steam machines require lava connected (a la magma forge). Requiring water input was planned, but will have to be added in the future when water storage isn’t hardcoded to pits)

-------POWDERS––[millstone]:

Cobaltite
Cinnabar
Rutile
Ilmenite
Hematite
Limonite
Malachite
Saltpeter
Sulfur (Brimstone)
Chromite
Bauxite
Cryolite
Salt (Rock Salt)
Turnings (byproducts of using machinery, has low chance to be produced. ignites relatively easily)

-----SAND––[millstone]:

Sandstone = tan sand
Quartzite = white sand
Shale = black sand
Bauxite = red sand
Siltstone = yellow sand
Obsidian = obsidian sand

—---METAL-EXTRACTIONS––[chemistry station]:

Lithium (powdered form)
Chromium (bars)
Cobalt (bars)
Titanium (bars)
Aluminum (bars)

-----MATERIALS––

Wooden Pulp: Used for processing into paper, made out of Logs + Powdered Salt

Gunpowder: Used for “Dwarven Firearms” mod, made out of Sulfur Powder + Saltpeter Powder

Hello, may I ask how to smelt the powder of the ore? After I grind it, I still can't smelt it.

Also, what are the powders stored ass? Trying to sort them out in their own stockpile.

Loving this mod. Would it be possible to add the metal high boots to the milling machine, seems to be the only one missing? Also a way to make glass mechanisms?

Notice an error in the Stonecutter. Instead of saying rock or stone pipe, it says metal pipe. It does still produce a rock pipe section, even though the label is incorrect.

Will you be adding more power sources? like Steam engines for power?
my god this looks amazing, will be installing and testing it out now!

Woah, this looks sick

Thank you for trying out the mod :)

That's an intended mechanic. I set metal powders to not be magma safe, due to them having a much higher surface area and naturally lower combustion points irl. They should be fine in regular hot environments like deserts :) ty for the feedback

Thanks for the mod!
I'm not sure if was my own mistake or not (I've also settled next to a volcano.) But I was using a stonemill for Cobaltite and at some point. The entire surface set on fire. Thankfully, no one was killed (just some cattle.) I'm not sure if originated from the stonemill or windmill. It was strange!
