Green/Blue Round Rocks Cluster

Opis
YOU MUST SUBSCRIBE TO Green and Blue Round Rocks prop TO USE THIS ASSET

Rock Clusters 1 is a decorative asset to create awesome looking shores, river beds, bluffs and many other rocky scenery.

Credit and many thanks for these beautiful models and textures goes to Nobiax[nobiax.deviantart.com].

In order to be able to place rocks in the water while still being able to have them grouped close together and positioned relatively randomly they must be placed as props inside an asset. This is my improvised solution.

These are 9 rock props placed on circular 1x1 park assets each with random rotations. The size variety and orientation of the props results in random appearance when plopped and by rotating the asset while we lay many of them close to gether we're able to get a pretty tight rock formation that's not too repetitive.

They are modded to be placeable anywhere, don't spawn seagulls and are flood-proof.

There are two versions: One with red and yellow tones in the rocks, and one with green and blue. The props comes with two shades in each of their colors and 18 different size possibilites for added variety.

Model is 200 tris with 1024 textures and 128 textures for the custom LOD's.

  • Menu position: Decoration->Paths
  • Cost/Maintenance: 0

IMPORTANT ISSUES:

Buildings object limit
These are "park" assets and as such each cluster you place counts as 1 item towards your buildings limit.
Prop rendering distance
These are prop based assets and props are not visible if you zoom out too far. Set "level of detail" setting to maximum in Graphic Options menu to increase this a bit but they will still disappear from far away.

This level of randomness in rock placement and overall variety is not possible with "building model" based assets as opposed to prop based because you'd need 20 different assets each with slightly different rock placements to achieve and there is also the problem of the rock model not sinking to bottom of water.

If you're looking for rocks that are visible from any distance this is not for you.

DISCLAIMER:

Prop textures optimized for, and Images taken using Temperate biome and BloodyPenguin's Daylight Classic mod. Can't guarantee perfect match for all biomes.

Enjoy!

Report it as a bug to game devs. Nothing I can do about it.

Oddly enough after the ND update, these are causing trash trucks to fill up completely when they pass by.

Hi, when I zoom out, the rocks become shiny and look horrible, is there anyway to sort this?

I just updated this, it's now under Paths menu in Decoration tab. It no longer floods and doesn't spawn seaguls. For people who had already plopped them, you need to bulldoze/replace to get rid of seagulls. Also, if you had plopped these and now they are not visible, just draw a piece of road nearby and they should appear. Let me know of any problems.

(Part 1)

TPB- Of course the reward for doing something great is to have everyone asking you to do more of the same. I'm a former SC4 modder and find myself very frustrated not to be able to go in, modify a few properties, and get exactly what I want. So until I can get a better handle on learning this stuff, I'm reliant on the kindness of others to be generous with their time. A couple of questions, then, and a request.

1. The "whiteness" that turns on when the Parks items plopping is enabled makes the rocks almost impossible to plop with any consistent accuracy in a small stream. Is there any way to toggle this to off?
