This is for cities with entirely too much traffic. Here you can separate truck traffic from car traffic by using the outer lane for trucks. Then it will be like I-95 in New Jersey. Utica, NY uses the inner lane for the toll road that leads into and out of their city while the outer lanes hug it for local traffic.

How to separate the traffic: For Industry, use Double-Highway Connectors where both inner and outer sets connect to Industry. For Commerce and Residential, use Double-Highway Connectors where only the inner set connects to them. I have templates uploaded for both. You will then see semi trucks use the outer lanes and commercial trucks and cars using the inner lanes.

Note: This is overkill unless you mod your city to unlock 25 or more blocks. It takes up a lot of space. With less than 25 blocks unlocked, you will most likely not have enough traffic on your highways to require separating the traffic.

No mods were used in the making of or needed to use. Ramps were designed to be shallow but not utilize the maximum distance. This ensures it can be plopped even in moderately hilly terrain, despite its size. To connect this to your double highway, use the Side A and Side B sections.
