OUTDATED: This mod is not up to date but fortunately there is RevvEmUp who created an updated version of Craftable seeds and some addons, thanks for your effort! Check out the updated mod: Craftable Seeds NEW

This mod makes it possible to create all seeds and some saplings directly from the crops and fruits. Just open the new Seed Maker, which can be crafted in the Inventors Table, and create your own seeds and saplings.

With this mod you are able to create:
  • all seeds from vanilla crops
  • new Mushroom Seed and Thorny Plant Seed
  • new saplings from Alienfruits, Mushrooms, Coconuts, Plant Fibre and more
  • new Red Apple Tree Sapling


This mod can be extended with the following addon:

Yes of course, if a mod just uses the base game mechanic then it just spawns Sapling. For modded saplings there is a way to spawn more customized saplings with e.g. custom names.

well maybe for modded tree in this case.
but for tree like geode , geode tree when cut down give "geode sapling" not just "sapling"

@Dr_Shadox: that has nothing to do with the mod or any other mod itself. The basic game just generates a sapling item with internal parameters (type, color, etc.), but the item itself is called Sapling, everytime.

Hello Neo , i have a little issue with the mod , i've add a modded tree in game and i'm able to create it (with the wanted name) , but when grow and cut it loot a sapling named only "Sapling" any idea why please ?

@Neo Your mod isn't really outdated, it still works perfectly fine with the latest version of Starbound. No idea about FU, I don't use that, but vanilla works without any kind of problem.

@Cenobite30 I swear, it should be working. I checked the metadata of both the dev build and release versions of my FU addon mod and it has neither a requirement or dependency for the old or new mod. I only have an "Include" line so it can load after Craftable Seeds NEW.

It seems that RevvEmUp's FU addon still requires this as a dependency. My game won't even start without your "outdated" one. :steamhappy:

Only one note from my side: think about an alternative naming for your mod. Maybe call it Craftable Seeds Revived or Craftable Seeds Plus or something else. ;)
