GX Industry City Extensions

Description
Placeable buildings and tourist attractions to work with GX Industry mod. Empty placeholder included to use with any custom construction you want. They work as comercial areas, so you can pick/drop passengers there by connecting them to a road and placing a stop, even if no city is nearby. They are available at the industry button menu, which is enabled by the mod too.

Hello Geloxo, I have a bit of an odd question that your mod (or its parent mod) may help with.

I'm playing on a Megaloamaniac sized map and i am trying to make some very long distance cargo hauls from a single main production hub.

The idea is to by air or rail send hundreds if not thousands of units of cargo to a distributation hub, which then feeds the local towns by road. But the demand signal just doesn't seem to reach as far.

There is a sort of a workaround by placing a factory type at a distribution hub, but it isn't really what I'm afetr.

Does this mod act as a "demand center" that can be stopped at along a long route and "refresh" the demand? I would like to be able to haul cargo across the entire map to various distribution hubs scattered about, but distance seems to be limited. A mod that "refreshes" demand would be great, so does this mod act in that way?

rattlesnake, it would depend on what asset and how far away from a city it was. Passangers will only go to the torist atractions, food will only go to cities, torist atractions will only accept passangers, and so on. The assets you place will work exactly like the ones already in a game. I have set up nice torist lines that got a steady flow of people coming in via a train and then a bus... so if you set them up right, they will work. Make sure all you roads are connected (in some way), and that there is good service on the line, and it will work.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?
I can't seem to get this to work properly. I placed one of the assets on a mountaintop and placed a passenger stop nearby, but even after many decades, no passengers traveled to the site.

I also tried delivering bread (you said they act as commercial zones) just to see if that would help but the site would not accept any deliveries.

wabbithunta, quite right, next time i shall. geloxo, i see, i hope someone does it. It feels funny (to me at least) to go through the war's time period but not having it affect anything (especially with TF having a few missions that mention a few wars). If you know anyone who might be able to do it, mention it to em ;) I'd love to be transporting Sherman's via train to a dock or camp, or Tigers and Panzer 4s in Germany... wish i was good at or had the time to mod stuff, to be able to make things just how one pictures it... i'll just keep on hoping. o7

Time period topic is simple: you can edit the .con files of the related industries and set the availability (yearto, yearfrom) variables to match a particular era. About tanks and so on also possible. Just a 3D model is needed for the factory. I´m afraid 3D modelling is not my best skill...

That's a good idea, and please, don't take this the wrong way. May I suggest that you put this on the forum as a new thread. You'll more than likely get a bigger response, if this is set as a totally different thread. That way it won't clutter this one with a different "theme" to what's been posted.

I love the mod. Out of curiousity, do you think it would be possible for a mod to be made that would create war time industries (that would be available during the war's time period). Meaning like a tank factroy that you would have to supply, as well as a place to take the tanks (or finished equipment from say a gun factory)... also a place to send people (like a boot camp or something)... and settable by country (america, britain, germany, russia, so on)... I know i'm probably asking for to much here, but given the games modding abilities, would it even be possible is my main question.
