Hi, I just ran a quick test to check with just this mod and the game + latest patch and had no issue. The full set of religions loaded as expected.
Are you sure you had the mod enabled in the menu before starting the game? Otherwise, are any other mods you use causing a conflict that would prevent this mod from loading?
If you can tell me if any errors show up in the ~Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Logs\database.log file "after" you start the game with the mod that will help me track down the issue.
Good to hear it. For beliefs, it’s the same issue where Civ VI’s beliefs are almost all Christian themed, so when you move away from Christianity there aren’t as many options besides like Sacred Places, but there’s a few that kinda work if you sort of ignore the name and look at them thematically.
So, for Smarta, Cross-Cultural Dialogue kinda works if you understand it more as inter-denominational instead of cross religions or cultures. Then maybe Feed the World and Holy Waters.
Amanaiism would be Sacred places and Burial Grounds. It doesn’t really have an appropriate Follower Belief, maybe Choral Music if you really stretch the idea of just music being appropriate.
Can I just ask do you have any suggestions as to what Pantheon and sets of beliefs would most closely represent the Smartism Hindu denomination and the traditional Berber religion Amanaiism in Civ V?
Glad to hear you’re enjoying the mod. Yeah, the Roman emperors usually go for either Numenius, Imperial Cult, or Christianity depending on their date. So, Imperial Cult’s a good choice for Hadrian. Robespierre is interesting because he tried to make up his own religion for France during the revolution. The mod doesn’t include his religion (it’s the sort of niche I would only include if Robespierre himself was in the game). His philosophy has some similarities to Neoplatonism in terms of his idea of the godhead and civic virtue, though obviously not directly related. It’s probably best to use one of the custom icons.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I’ve already added a few new Buddhist icons to the Civ VII version of the mod I’m working on at the moment. I don’t know when I’m going to go back and update the VI version. It probably won’t be for a while as my time is limited and making the version for the new game is my current priority, but I’ll keep them in mind for when I eventually get to it.
@Eykonal
Hi, unfortunately you can’t without directly adding an entry in the religious preference file of the mod. There’s no way for me to offer a true dynamic option where you can easily set the leader to any religion, I have to individually code every preference. It’s why I only focused on historical options in the configuration file. Sorry.
Hi, it’s a limitation of the game itself and there’s really nothing I can do. At some point you just have to choose between various mods because the game can’t handle mods adding too much stuff.
@ianandsue5
Yup, already working on the Civ VII version, which is why I haven’t been on here lately. Mesoamerican religion would probably use Sacred Places, Feed the World, Defender of the Faith. Catholicism can probably choose most of them but Papa Primacy, Reliquaries/Jesuit Education, and one of the missionary bonuses, like Zeal, Preachers, or Holy Order.
I’ll look into the issue with it not starting in other languages next time I do an update. Unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to do it for a while. If you go into the mod folder -> Data -> Foreign and delete the foreign language files, it should at least be able to start up albeit still with English text.
@D_av3
It would only be the _PL file. Some additional text is handled in the SQL and can’t be translated, but almost everything else would be in the _PL.
