Description
This is an extension for ReDistricting! It will not work without ReDistricting downloaded and enabled. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=882993242

This mod component adds new projects to the game, some generically available, others linked to the unique districts introduced in my ReDistricting mod. It also adds a few new units to the game which are linked in some way with those projects.

-New Units: Hero, Slave, Journalist

-New Projects Available to All Civs: Crack the Whip, Summon a Hero, Industrial Revolution, Scientific Revolution, Railroad System, Highway System

-New Civ Unique Projects: currently implemented for America, Aztec, England, Germany, Japan, Norway, Sumeria.



FAQ

1. Does this mod require any DLC?

Yes. This mod component requires the Aztec DLC, as well as ReDistricting to be downloaded and enabled.

2. Is this mod compatible with other mods?

Yes, it should be, generally speaking. Of course there are always exceptions. Notably, this mod should not be run alongside my larger modpacks, which already contain it!

3. Why aren't there any new art assets?

Mainly because I am not an artist! I am a coder and designer, and believe me, doing that fills up my time just fine without me trying my hand at textures and 3D models. I do however work with a few very talented artists, who are slowly making their way through a bunch of different projects. If this one hasn't gotten attention it's probably because it's just not as high a priority as other projects on the agenda. Rest assured, it is eventually intended that all new assets will have correspondingly new art.

4. Can I re-use part or all of this component in my mod?

Only with my permission. Send me a private message and we'll talk.

5. I love this mod and want to see it succeed. What can I do to help?

summer 2017 update screwed up this mod via load order, reference, dependency problems

no thats added in the BFG. Lots of resource projects are getting added, slowly. Chances are if you don't see a description for it its because its not fully implemented yet and you shouldn't do it.

Does this add a gypsum and marble project? I have these in my projects list and have absolutely no idea where they are from and what they do...

that turned out to be much harder to implement than i thought at the time I wrote that description. Currently they cannot contribute

A quick question about the "slave" units: According to the description they can contribute production to districts and wonders, but I don't see any contextual buttons for that. Do they need to be over the district/wonder tile specifically? I should note that I am using them with the platinum modpack, so might it have something to do with that?

seems to sometimes happen with random promotions. might have to change the system

@Ananse since the update, the hero can now get promotion, but I met a bug, is after the 3rd promotion, I cannot choose it, the buttom is not here.

every level also gives the hero +5 overall strength. These numbers could perhaps use some tinkering still, it's just a very, very small part of the game :)

While I like the idea of the Hero, I do feel it needs some updating. For example, actually listing what it does in-game. I only found out after a while how it works, but for quite a while it felt like I'd wasted production time making him.

Also, if I may, a couple of his promotions feel useless. Due to the lack of strength the hero has, any promotions designed to buff surrounding units are worthless, since any ranged unit could easily take him out. If it were a Support Unit, this wouldn't be a problem, since he could "hide" beneath an actual military unit.

Hero does not gaining XP every turn, is like useless...
