Description
Now Ether Dragons can travel through the galaxy. And it is not a single dragon.

IMPORTANT
! Important note: now to grow dragon you need to select any Molten/Shattered planet inside your borders and use specific planetary decision! . Check "Egg Incubation" section for more details

Mod description
Mod adds roaming dragons in the galaxy. Dragons usually are just travelling between stars, stays near some of them for some time and travel again. Time from time dragon may lay an egg and new dragon will born.

Localizations
Chinese localization - thanks to 惡芽のINFINI7E

The latest update info
- Updated for 4.0
- Dragon Wyrm can be reanimated upon kill if there is body remains for analysis

Requirements
Leviathans DLC is required.

Dragon lifecycle
There are 4 dragon forms: Whelp, Wyrmling, Dragon and Wyrm
Only Wyrm may lay an egg (about every 20 years)
Egg becomes Whelp in about 10 year
Whelp becomes Wyrmling in about next 10 years
Wyrmling -> Dragon takes ~15 years
And finally Dragon becomes Wyrm in another ~20 years

Dragon behavior
- Aggressive but will not retaliate being attacked
- Avoid black holes, Fallen Empires space (they know how to scare dragons away), Enclave systems
- Don't like systems with pulsars and neutron stars and with colonized planets, but may visit them still.
- Friedly to other space fauna except drones
- Sometimes Dragon Wyrm may destroy starbase completely if angered, though doesn't bother about outposts

Dragon Hoard Interaction
Both dragon types - hoard and roaming - are different countries, but hoard dragon is friendly to any other roaming dragons entering his system. Mod doesn't change Dragon Hoard events and storyline, but you can get its unique weaponary from roaming dragons debries.

Events and Projects
- "How to train your own dragon". Event may happen after finishing "The Way of The Dragon" event chain. When you find dragon mother hatching an Egg then special project will occur to investigate that planet and understand how to determine if there can be Egg on a planet. Check "Incubation" section below for more details.
- "The Way of The Dragon" event chain will allow you to find out what dragons like and avoid. At the end you will get 'Dragon's Fear' edict to scare dragons out of your space and also may determine hatching dragons.
- When dragon is defeated the special project will be spawn to explore its remains. It can give you research points and/or some dragon-related techs (Energy Lances, Dragon's Armor, Dragon's Lightning (PD weapon) and devastating Dragon's Breath long-range weapon.

Dragon Fear edict
With 2.0 update it requires some explanation to use it wisely. 'Dragon Fear' edict allows to scare dragons out empire space, it is device of some sort which consumes amount of energy and can be sustained only on developed starbases or colonies. So its mechanic is the following:
Full 'Fear' effect is produces by
- starfortress and citadels
- planetary capital
- planetary fortress
Effect makes system 'bad' for dragons meanwhile they may visit it in some rare conditions.
Weaker 'Fear Aura' effect
- exists in all systems connected to one with a full effect
- produced by starports
Effect makes system be 'avoided' by dragons so they would prefer other ways if any. That means dragons will visit 'aura' systems but less likely than others.

Dragon Friend
When you will investigate all 'liked' system and some 'not-liked' the special project will appear to research that data. As result the edicts will be available to disguise your fleet/stations as dragon kin and friendly dragons.

Note, when edicts ends, there is period in about 3 years where dragons will stay neutral, but after that they will become hostile again. Be careful with that.

Note also that not all ethics and civics allows that edict.

Dragon's Etherholes
Dragons are able to create unique wormhole if stuck in some system. Such Etherhole requires normal star as source of power and takes dragon health during creation. Etherholes are asymmetrical, each pair has 'enter' and 'exit', all etherholes are connected as node-nexus connections between 'enters' and 'exits'. You may travel through it in any direction but not between the same types, i.e. 'enter'-'enter' and 'exit'-'exit' are prohibited. All natural Etherholes are temporary and will disappear eventually. Sometimes that could lead to situation when Etherhole network is 'disconnected', e.g. if there are only one type of holes - either 'enter' or 'exit'. This state will last until any new pair will be created by some dragon or until all etherholes will gone

Related techs:
- Etherhole investigation. Discover how to travel through Etherhole network.
- Etherhole stabilization. Allow you to keep Etherhole opened permanently by creating special megastructure which connects wormhole with the closest star to supply it with needed energy. Such Etherholes will stay forever after that.
- Etherhole Friend-or-Foe technique. Enhance Etherholes to be able to control access and close gates on your territory for enemies

Egg Incubation
- Finish "How to train your own dragon" event
- Eggs are planted by Ether Wyrm or Ether Dwarf on Molten or Shattered planets, if that planet is in your intel range there is chance to discover egg place. If system is not yet surveyed - direct survey can reveal egg too. Research it and you'll get Egg or nothing if you are unlucky or there is no egg already
- you need two tech - Dragon Biology and Deep Core Mining - to incubate dragon egg
- find a molten or shattered planet and check decisions. If you have needed tech - it will be there. If planet has egg planted - there will be no decision available, try another planet
- with some luck your attempt will be successful. If not - some good resources remains on incubation planet.
- first successful incubation makes all Dragon techs potential - they can appear as tech choice, including Dragon Wing plasma - for this particular weapon it is the only way to get it
- each failed incubation adds research point to special 'Hatchery' tech which increases chances of success incubation

Dragons: Reborn
Finally you can enhance dragon during their incubation and get impressive dragon pet and related armor tech.
- With Tradition path taken - "Great Awakening", "Engineered Genesis", "Integrated Anatomy" or "Flood of Supremacy" - it is possible to grow enhanced Dragons: Psi Dragon, Genetic Dragon, Cyborg Dragon and Nanite Dragon respectively
- you need 'Hatchery' tech researched. Then another one impoved hatchery tech will appear depending on Tradition taken
- now new decision is available on planet to grow specific Reborn Dragon - Psionic, Genetic, Cyborg or Nanite

Compatibility
Mod should be compatible with everything, that means it will work in general and will not affect other mods.

Playable Guardians note:
While mod is compatible with PG mod, it adds a confusion because there are many dragons to kill now but PG event will trigger only for one particular drake which is guarding Hoard planet. That is why there is additional support for PG - the event to get own playable drake will appear when you defeat any adult dragon in game.

Stability and balance
The mod is quite stable, please report any issues or incompatibilities back to me.

Enjoy. Or suffer.

As a suggestion what about "terraforming" uninhabitable world into molten worlds to create potential nests for dragons? Sort of like a soft planet cracker approach through a Decision or something in owned systems if an empire has pursued the Dragon's Friend route and runs the Edict.

@Gogabor, Thank you for clearing that up. Loving the mod

@Unamused, right, it is small in size but with Wyrm weaponry. It gets also random bonuses to armor, hull, resistance, etc. So there is variety in hatching outcome.

@Gogabor, thanks for the answer. Just to make sure I am not overlooking anything: Dwarf Dragons are not the same as Wyrmling Dragons right?
Gogabor  [author] 4 Jul @ 1:11am
@Devidose, as for weapons, I need to update them for bio-path as I can see, bioships uses own prerequisites and sets
Gogabor  [author] 4 Jul @ 12:56am
@Unamused, only 'dwarf' can be hatched, also with selected AP and advanced hatchery special types can be hatched too.
Unamused 3 Jul @ 11:48am
Quick question about hatching dragons: do I need a specific tech to not just get dwarf dragons? Non-Dwarf dragons have all hatched feral

Speaking of the t3 beam, should it also be included as a Space Fauna weapon since the t1 and t2 versions are?
Gogabor  [author] 3 Jul @ 3:39am
@Devidose, noted, thanks!

It's possible empires with bio-ships can't research the tier 3 Dragon Breath beam weapon tech from debris due to the Battleships requirement that they can't ever learn.
