Ragdoll Eye Tracker

LUA Error (December 12, 2024)
[Ragdoll Eye Tracker] lua/autorun/eyetracker.lua:61: bad argument #1 to 'GetBonePosition' (number expected, got nil)
1. GetBonePosition - [C]:-1
2. v - lua/autorun/eyetracker.lua:61
3. unknown - lua/includes/modules/hook.lua:96

I spawned a ragdoll and received this error, which kept stacking until I reset the eye tracking for the selected ragdoll. From my testing, I determined this was not actually the cause of recently installing the Custom Taunt addon as I was thinking, but rather because I'm using the Half-Life 2 zombie player model.

TL;DR
Default zombie player model (possibly others) causes the above error to occur when enabling eye tracking.

I'd guess the models dont have the right bones, but i wrote this 13 years ago, and I haven't done anything gmod in a long time, so i cant be a huge help :vvvvvv_victoria:

sorry! but anybody feel absolutely free to yank it and reupload with fixes

Hi! Thanks for the response. Honestly, I think this would boil down to one of those "it's how the game works, I can't do anything" moments. A model without "eyes" is just not supposed to be tracked.

I had another look at this today, but sadly the addon is in a .bin format, with 99% of the instructions being for Windows (which I don't use anymore)

If you can extract and upload the files for it, I'll go ahead and get at least a warning message implemented so it doesn't spam you with errors.

Still being a Windows user, I'm not sure if this process will still work for you, but even as a legacy BIN file, you should still be able to right-click and extract it. It extracts a format-less file, but you can easily give it the .gma extension to make it work with GMAD.

When extracting it, you may receive an error, but I've done it a few times with various addons and the error doesn't really seem to cause any sort of problem. I can go ahead and do it, but how should I get the files to you?
