i know we already have a bug thread, but because of the complexity of this one and the effort involved in reproducing it, and the fact that it has been mentioned in the bug thread multiple times with some apparent difficulty communicating,i feel it deserves its own thread

the situation:

Perfect Ascension is supposed to let you have the first and second tier Ascension Perk of all three ascension paths.

depending on the order in which you progress through the perfect ascension, you may not be able to complete all the ascension perks.

the problem:

1. completing the project "the flesh is weak" hides the biological and psionistic ascension perks from the selection list. even if you have ultimate ascension. even if you have perfect ascension

2. the ascension perk "the flesh is weak" becomes unavailable to select if the player has the biological or psionistic ascension perks activated.


a workaround:

through console commands, and reloading, i have determined this procedure to be one where you can make a full ascension:

1. get your first ascension perk
2. research the necessary technologies to get the "the flesh is weak". activate the "the flesh is weak" ascension perk. do NOT complete the special project
3. get "ultimate ascension", get the biological and psionistic ascension perks. get perfect ascension. get the tier 2 biological and psionistic ascension perks.

the order of completing the perks in step 3 can vary.

4. complete the "the flesh is weak" special project. get the synthetic tier 2 ascension perk.

only then do you have perfect ascension.

afaik this is the only procedure towards perfect ascension that works.

though i would like to be able to rush synthetic evolution and then have my robot people pursue psionics.
