Hello all! I've been thinking about this topic actually, and I've finally thought of something. So, first off, I really like the idea of brigands being in the mountains, but what if this is also some sacred place for some tribe (like Zuracatta's idea) (this ties into my other ideas)? So, the mountains could be a very spirit-filled area, and the spirits of the area often posess the animals. The people, however, are not usually posessed. People arent exactly immune to this though, as the spirits will be transmitted through the consumption of a posessed animal's heart. This then leads to the spirit being inside the person, slowly gaining control. This will be shown by agression, insatiable hunger, and mutations to the person characteristic of the animals the spirit was in. For example, if a brigand were to hunt and kill a bear, then eat it's heart, they might start developing characteristics of the bear. So, the tribe forbids the consumption of the heart, as they purely worship the spirits and protect the area. The brigands however, are known to have... savage eating habits. If this were to be implemented, we would expect to see: brigands, part/mostly animal brigands (I had bears, wolves, deer, and mountain goats in mind when I thought of this), members of the tribe, and the beasts themselves. The possiblities don't stop there, as the bosses may be champions of packs of the turned brigands, shapeshifting humans who may have control over the spirits, or perhaps another beast (yeti hint hint) who consumes the hearts of other animals to grow stronger... That's all I have for now, hopefully this gives people ideas at least. I might be able to help with art :P I actually have a quick sketch of an extreme case of this, if anyone interested wants to see
Void_slime: "I was thinking of a way around that. Have the Mountain be unlocked through a town event in which an old hunter comes down from the area and tells us about it. We can then use the intro, exit, and boss lines voiced by the old hunter."
Frostbite:
Just like the bleed and blight mechanic except if your character recieves frostbite from an enemy native to the mountain the receive -2 speed and -3 dodge for a certain amount of rounds. Maybe the creation of a new medicine is required to remove it instantly like it could be called "anti frost", if it cant be implemented to the loadout before journey maybe it can be found in the mountains themselves.
Torchlight penalty:
As the mountain will be in higher altitude, the howling winds will be much stronger meaning you can bring torches as usual but they will slightly fade out quicker as the wind is so strong it may put the torch out.
Unusual Cold: A chill wind blows, and a cold air surrounds the icy peaks. A new coldfront is moving in.
All quests for this week is colder, giving a speed and dodge penalty this week.
Warmth In the Night: The miners digging for gems and gold will have no fear of freezing where they stand.
+33% Resolve EXP and +15% DMG in Mountains.
Mysterious Avalanche: It seems the giants no longer accept new arrivals, and their message is being delivered through tons of snow.
-50% less arrivals.
What do you guys think?
We already have a Heat Meter replacing Torchlight.
Town event
"someone watching for us. He stalk us and wait... Somewhere there - in the shadows"
All heroes in town gain 25 stress. All stress relief actions 50% less effective. Next expediction will suffer 1 stress for each title move.
That's really harsh, but I enjoy negative events. Change that to "All idle heroes gain 25 stress" and instead of suffering 1 stress for each tile, maybe give every hero on the next mission the same effect as "Claustrophobia"?
yeah. That is good
Heartbreaker
Warriors:
Wolf
+20% DMG to all enemies.
Ram
+20% PROT to all enemies.
Eagle
+10% CRIT to all enemies.
Hunters:
Crow
Chance to steal trinket! You can recover it at the end of the fight.
Owl
+50% ACC to all enemies.
Hare
+20 DODGE to all enemies.
Cougar
+5 SPEED to all enemies.
Shamans:

EDIT: Made all the animals actually indiginous to the Mountains.
