please check your volume settings.

make sure your audio producing application is set to 100% volume, and that you limit the 'loudness' with the Windows Volume ::

25% app volume vs 100% windows volume
and
100% app volume vs 25% windows volume,

make a world of difference for Wallpaper Engine's audio processing

(even though the loudness from the sound out of your speakers should be roughly the same)
