Caravaning with truck / APC
could someone explain how to caravan? i already tryd different things how to make one. but the vehicles just start carrying random stuff. and i didnt really understanded the comment for caravaning: "If your goal is caravanning, load the occupants into the vehicles first, create the caravan and then undraft the vehicles."
would be very nice if someone can tell me what i need to do for it.
and maybe. how can i repair vehicles? because it always show me: Truck (broken) and i got the broken symbol on it like on heaters

Ok NVM. i understand it now but then i encounter a bug. i wanna use my APC for a caravan. set it as caravan people set some fuel and food and do what you said. well. it still is hauling stuff. and dont even think about making a caravan

I can't figure how to load more than 1 driver and 1 passenger in the truck, can you help me ?

You can only have one driver. and i think the Truck is just a 2 seater
but so far as i saw the APC can have more passenger. you have an other option as "select passenger" where you can select if yu wanna eject one or add one

Have anyone managed to form a working caravan with these vehicles? I draft vehicles, put people in them, form caravan, then undraft. But vehicles never finish caravan forming process - they haul supplies first, but after that start to act like regular pawns and keep hauling other base stuff.

thats a bug. i have the same. i like the idea with vehicles. but its too buggy to get it in the game

if the map have haulables in it, the caravaning breaks. make sure you forbid all items not in stockpile requested by your stockpile on the map 1st.

So i ran into something interesting that has to do with balancing joy and the vehicles. I was running a long caravan with three trucks an APC and two tanks (Way Late Game for me)(I use a multitude of other mods as well but those dont change this glaring issue). After I got close to the trade area (Which i was actually planning to raid) I was ambushed, In the middle of the fight all my colonists dismounted the vehicles and started complaining about lack of joy. (Your in a fight! Who cares!) After the fight was resolved I had no way to bring their joy back up and had to debate between making them move along without the vehicles back home, or abandoning them at their current location. I know the Joywire implant can assist in this but I dont have the necissary time to give them all the implant let alone want to since its a group of fifteen thats a raiding group, its not practical and overall a waste of resources, is thier any way to resolve getting the vehicles home? Because it took a bit of time to get them and the cannons i put on the tanks were worth quite a bit.

Way to micromanage it, have the caravan form outside your colony.
1)load driver(s)
2)form caravan
3)undraft vehicles so they can collect their supplies
4)redraft vehicles and move to group point
5)forbid doors into colony
6)profit

Also bug, drivers will get classified as prisoners and then become hostile

The only way i can get a vehicle caravan to work is to use the dev mode instant caravan (with a dummy colonist that you the immediately split and return). I can get a vehicle caravan to load all its items but then it just stays around wandering instead of leaving.

You dont need this if you give it extra fuel, I dont think the vehicles count the fuel already in them when caravanning

For some reason, I cannot get the lone truck to go caravaning. I loaded my driver, drafted, created caravan, undrafted, and that's it. The truck does nothing.


May Achtung! have something to do with this?
