-NEW RESOURCE: Dreamcap Mushrooms. You can find them from Centaurs on hunts, and rarely, they will bring back spores you can plant and grow as well. Dreamcaps can be used as Narcoberries in various recipies.

I've hunted 20 or so centaurs and no drops.

no, you tame a centaur and then you can send the tames centaur on a hunt and after thirty minutes it may bring some back
