Ye I was thinking of the same thing. it would be less trouble than adding a new sentry type and the balance issues it would have?

So this means even more money to spend on crates to HOPE to get it ? No one wants that

if they made it a pda weapon to replace the sentry with a new one, it would still be the same.

Yeah but that would just be considered as "reskin" , so valve would put it in crates , and nowhere else to unlock it from

i do feel like we need a reskin of the sentry gun and pda, but the problem is that we have so many damn reskins already that it's getting annoying looking through the shop for good, stat-filled weapons and then having a crap tonna stock skins in my face. i want to change my playstyle, please, not look like some 3-year-old, messing around with new toys that are literally the same as his old ones, they just LOOK different.
so i guess i'm kinda on both sides of this argument.

yes, that is my point. Whether the sentry is a reskin or a new sentry type, your chances of getting it for free is pretty low.

actually, i doubt you can get reskins from drops, so evidently you can't get them for free. reskins and actual weapons are two entirely different things, y'know.

I am pretty sure you can get resKins As drops. I managed to get the rainblower and I am 100% sure I did not buy it.

you're "pretty sure", however you aren't entirely sure. i'm "entirely sure" that you CAN'T get cmmando grade reskins from drops. also, the rainblower isn't a skin, as it enables pyrovision and can only be seen in pyrovision, so there's your mistake.

Well maybe they could make it so that spy's pda slot can also be used as engie pda slots and then you could just use the engie class token and a pda slot token to make it

Ah OK. My mistake then.

i'm sure that you can't get items like the ap-sap from drops, but i think that you can craft skins. i mean, i've crafted both a ham shank and a conscentious objector, so i don't doubt that, if it makes sense to do so, you should be able to craft this then, too.
