BW-Panzer-VIII (No Longer Developed)
Suggestions for fixes and improvements.
There are actually quite a few things that I believe should be fixed/changed. I'm going to list them here, I know you didn't make the mod, but you might still be able to/be willing to fix them. If not, someone else might.

For one, the armament is wrong. Like, completely. The model is correct, but the stats and the mechanics aren't. It should have a 128mm cannon, not a 125mm. THe ammo should NOT be APFSDS as they didn't have that. IT should be APCBC (or APC? As PzGr 39), and APCR (As PzGr 40). THe secondary should have PzGr 39 (APCBC?), Hl. Gr. 38C (HEAT), and HE mainly (Spgr. 34). The secondary is a 75mm (thats the smaller barrel). THe Coax MG is on the other side of the main gun and its basically enclosed, there should just be a small hole for it to fire through, the barrel doesn't stick out.

Besides that, the camo is "wrong", the texture is generally not historically accurate at all (but its not more wrong than the original texture, so not like it matters too much). THe model has some flaws, but that's fine, nothing too bad). There is also a bug apparently for the gunner seat. The head seems to clip through the roof of the turret, that shouldn't be. Besides that its fine how it is, but the gun caliber and ammo should probably be fixed, and especially the 75mm should be added as an armament for the smaller barrel next to the main gun.

Finally, I heavily recommend removing that skull and the number. If historical markings should be on it, then they should be on the side skirts/side plate that covers the tracks. A german cross/balkenkreuz on each side a little towards the front of the tank should do. A number (probably in red or white or black, either is fine) on the turret with 3 digits wouldn't be wrong either. Divisional insignia if any is present should probably be on the front plate, and it should be much smaller. No markings were added to the prototypes so I guess I can't complain too much, but the skull is actually kind of... I find it toy-like. Its not the Totenkopf/death's head, and it shouldn't be because that would probably get me in jail if my neighbour sees it on my screen lel.

That's the main things. I'd also try to dull down the colors a bit. FOr models I use a light tan color we call 'buff', something like that with a low opacity should work.


Just trying to improve this, or to help improve it. THose are a few things I found within like 20 minutes of playing. I don't claim all of the info to be 1000% correct, but more correct than how it in the game now, i can promise that.

I will be fixing the skull insignia in the hull, as well as changing the ammunition type, I am not an experience enough with textures to make a better texture at the moment but I should be able to at least put the iron cross on the hull in the proper location. If you or someone you know is capable of creating a historically correct texture please contact me and together we can make this tank amazing. Also if anyone knows how to fix the idle sound on the tank engine please contact me as well. Other than that you guys should be expecting an update soon, and I appreciate your discussion and idea's.

Armor needs to be tougher, 125mm needs to be a 128mm, need 75mm added, needs 20mm autocannon added, model needs improvements, but not to god awfully bad in general. speed feels good for being slow. Turn is horrible, but I was truly hoping that would be the case. Gunner head sticks out of the roof of the turret. I kind of like this mod in the idea of what I can become with a bit of work yet.

No 20mm autocannon was ever mounted in the maus. there was an idea to mount one instead of the coax,. but pointing upward at a high angle, very similar to how the "schraege musik" system worked on the top of some planes, it couldnt be aimed, it was deemed useless just like it had been on planes. Rest is accurate.
