Pokemon Master Trainer 3D (7 Generations)

PMT: Legacy
I was playing this game with a friend, and about halfway through the game, I realised that, once all Generations are added to this mod, that this would be a great game to form a Legacy Game around.

Imagine: Starting off in Pallet Town, choosing how you wish to win the game. Would you seek out only the strongest Pokemon. Or would you raise them to become the strongest, or perhaps you just wish to collect as many as possable.

Then, one other player leads the regions Team, seeking to fufill their goals via control of the region, or theft of Pokemon, or even starting world ending events. Stoping them will prolong your mission to face the Elite 4, but Ignoring them will have consequences for you in later games. (Maybe for failing to stop Team Magma from boiling the sea, the economy in the next game is bad, so you draw 1 less item when instructed to draw for more then one)

Once you finish your first game in Kanto, you move on to Johto in game 2. But your character retains his collection of Pokemon, any uncaught in Kanto carryover to the random pools for the Johto game, and so on.

These are just some preliminary idea I thought up today, but what do you guys think? Would anyone using this mod (especially the mod creator) be interested in exploring this Idea of a Legacy game mode?

Morning A88mph! (7:30am here)

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. Having read your post I have had 3 ideas for future content:

1. "Pokémon Through the Ages" Expansion
Aimed towards people with a dedicated group that want to play PMT multiple times, players would compete to either defeat the Elite 4 on each generation, or to collect as many Gym Badges as possible in a given time limit.

Each time a player defeats a member of the elite 4, they gain 1 point - And as you said the Region & Generation progress onto the next.

The winner is whoever ends the last region with the most points, or has the most Gym Badges at the end of the final region.

Pros: Allows people to explore each generation, without the "There's so many Pokémon in this Region I can't get an evolution group" problem until later Generations. It would also be a nice to introduce people (like me) who stopped playing Pokémon after Emerald to the current generations without the entire game being filled with creatures I've never heard of.
Cons: Would become a very long game if combined with the "Gym Leaders" Expansion - Requiring a dedicated group. Even with 2 players this becomes an estimated 12hour game.

2. "Prepare For Trouble" Expansion
With this up to all but at least 1 player would take on the role of 1 of the infamous teams seen throughout Pokémon (Team Rocket, Cipher, Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Plasma, Flare, or Skull)

The team you get would be chosen at random,
You would have access to a set selection of Pokémon that you can access at any time.
You would not catch Pokémon or draw Event Cards like normal Trainers.
You would move 3 spaces per turn (So that players who roll well or use Item Cards can outrun you).
You would win the game by completing an event such as defeating each Trainer in a Battle, obtaining a legendary Pokémon (Via use of the Snag Machine developed by Team Cipher).

Pros: Simple enough to implement, can be combined with any current content. Would also allow for team-games (3 trainers vs 3 members of Team Rocket)
Cons: Either would need to be implemented after all the Pokémon, or created alongside - Making patch-to-patch take longer to produce.

3. "Pokémon Conquer"
Similar to the "Prepare For Trouble" Expansion, but every player is given an infamous team to play as.
Takes place on a unique board where spaces are layed out in a grid, where each team has a set starting point.
As Players travel the map, the spaces they move over become their own colour - Traveling over another players colour turns it into your own.
Clashing into another player causes a Battle, losing would send you back to your starting point and/or wipe the board of your colour.
The winner is the team with the most spaces of their colour after a set time frame.

Pros: It's different, a completely different style of game to give Pokémon fans a new challenge.
Cons: It's a completely different style of game, to the point where I would probably upload it as an entirely seperate Mod.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The combination of Ideas 1 & 2 would produce about 90% of your idea, I'm unsure about the 'Economy' side of things, but that's because if it get's so bad trainers can't do anything they'll lose interest before finishing.

The 1st & 2nd ideas are definetly something I'll be putting on the todo list, I love the idea of playing as the bad guy in games!

Currently I'm pretty much dedicating September to non-generation related content, so you may see these pop into existence before October if I can get all the assets created (:

Thanks for replying. Those add-ons sound pretty cool. As for length, that's not an issue. The point of Legacy games is that you play many session (around 10-15) before the winner is declaired. And even more so, since this is on Tabletop Simulator, you can just save your sessions for flexable timing.

Maybe if you have freetime, once I finish the rough draft of gameplay of my legacy idea, I can show you what I had in mind with what's available now?

That's fine by me, feel free to add me & throw ideas at me, or respond here if it's easier for formatting.
