Noticeable CPU increase with latest update
Hello,

You're probably already sick of me, I'm sorry!

Our community is a big fan of your map, and I believe we push it to the limit. I'm sorry for bugging you again, but with my 100 player server, on peak hours, we have gotten random users crashing. NOW, this is a really common thing, I understand, but looking at my logs, from the recent update, the CPU useage is ramped up like crazy! As well, when we clean the map, the large hangar defaults to glossy.
Is there a way, or any tips you may have, to make the map easier on the server?

If you were curious, I can send some screenshots of the increase of CPU useage.


Again, you are an awesome map maker, and I, and my community, enjoy your work.

This is probably just something that's a reality everyone has to deal with. The Source engine is not made for so many people on a server, nor is this map.
This map stretches the limits in many ways. And yes memory usage has increased with the last update. And it will likely only increase more if I add more interactive things. I can lower the memory usage, by removing interactive things like the new things I added like bacta tanks and working turbo lasers as well as normal doors.

That being said, I'v noticed some bugs on the map I want to fix. So I will likely be releasing another update soon. I won't add any big things, I just want to fix some stuff. But I can look at performance a bit as well. But I don't think this will decrease the CPU usage at all. Adding new things takes it's toll.

My advise, lower your max player count on the server, or upgrade your server.

Yes, we are searching for a stronger server at this time.
The community really enjoys the interactive elements you've added.
Sadly, lowering the tickrate causes the elevators to kill people, so we're working on finding the optimal number for it to work.

A big help is the reflection in the large hangar bay. Are there other locations where those could be toggled? When 5 people are shooting in the larger hangar, it causes an immense amount of lag.

I assume by shooting you mean shooting custom SW laser weapons. Maybe the creator of that addon needs to look into optimising that.

The hangar will always be a difficult location to optimise because it is so open. I'll do what I can, but I cannot do magic.
