Frequently Asked Questions
Been getting a lot of the same questions lately, so I figured it would be a good idea to make this to answer said questions for anyone else who ends up getting them. That way I don't have to go out of my way to make the same response for every single person who asks.
Soooo without further ado~

What are Everis?
Everis are a race of human-canine hybrid species. They're much like dogs or wild wolves, with thick fur coating the ends of their limbs and furry ears sprouting from the top of their head. They also have billowy tails to keep warm.
They are a mostly peaceful race, but know how to defend themselves well. Their advancements in technology make their race a formidable fighting force against the military force of most other races such as the Humans and the Apex, but because of their low population they are far more open to alliences, and do their best to avoid conflict so long as avoiding conflict doesn't result in the harm of their race.
But yeah. Space doggos, basically.

What's their history like?
Everis once dwelled on a snowy, isolated planet known as Crya(name subject to change). This planet, being one that was cold and scarce of resources, had the off-hand effect of making its wildlife very hostile and competetive for resources. Everis were thrown into a harsh survival of the fittest on this planet, where they quickly hard to learn to defend themselves in order to preserve their race.
Even with an unsteady introduction into an equally-unsteady world, Everis managed to do okay for themselves. Similar to humans, they were the only species on their planet that had developed opposable thumbs, a feature necessary for their progression as a race. Their advancements in technology and agriculture skyrocketed and quickly became the commonplace method for survival, more popular than the previously-used method of hunting packs. After all, it was much safer to stay safe and farm indoors than it was to try and hunt one of the colossal beasts out in the wild for food.
The virulent climate of their home planet was not helpful in the slightest for their population, however, and so they were eventually forced to send out colonies to populate the neighboring planets and solar systems in hopes of preventing the threat of extinction. This was many, many years ago. Now, though their numbers are still recovering, they can be found speckled amongst the galaxy as explorers, scientists, or bodyguards. They even went back and turned Crya into a safe(ish) place for passing freelancers or ships, so they can primarily be found there as well.

Why isn't there a Male gender?
First of all, there is! It's hard to tell ingame due to the lack of potential detail in the character sprites, but the males and females of the Everis race are still different, despite so many similarities. Aside from what should come as plainly obvious (the males being hermaphrodites while the females just being females), males are not as voluptuous as the females of their race. They are typically smaller in proportion and are shorter as well, but their feminine voices and features make them easily mistakable for being female. The best way to tell an Everis's gender would be to just look at the clothes they wear or ask one outright.
The reasons for a lack of a definintive male gender is simple; the harsh living on their home planet meant that they needed to have a more reliable way of raising young, or risk endangerment or extinction. By having both partners possess similar reproductive organs, this becomes much easier to achieve. This course of evolution happened very early in their timeline, and overtime both genders became significantly more difficult to distinguish than normal.

Are you going to add (insert feature here) to the mod?
I have a list of things I want to add that can be found right on the main page for the Everis mod. If theres something you want added that isn't covered by those, feel free to suggest it in the 'Suggestions and Ideas' thread!

Hey Ruth? What's coming in the next update?
I'm glad you asked!
I'm currently adding a new line of claw-based weapons for you guys to have fun with. When that's done, I might try adding in some other melee weapon types, such as axes and hammers.

When can I expect updates for this mod?
The Everis mod updates at the end of every month.

Who makes the artwork for this mod?
Me and my sister, for the time being.

More questions will be added as I recieve them, for now this pretty much answers the quesions most people seemed to have about the mod.
