Thanks for the help! I don't know much about coding, but I think I can get it to work.

There's minimal coding required if you just want the features: in both forks, there is a green "<> Code" button. Click that, and then click "Download ZIP" in the pop-up menu. Unzip the folder contained in the zip file into your garrysmod/addons folder. You don't need to unsubscribe from the workshop version

Note that addons from Github don't benefit from auto-updates, like with Steam Workshop: you'll need to track updates to these forks. In my fork, I added a notifier which checks for you, but you'll still have to redownload the zip file. I don't think I'll have to update my fork in the future, however, since I think I've got everything that I needed on there
