EDIT: Body model-wise. I believe helmets are green-lit for whatever because it doesn't affect the animations of the frame.
I feel like letting players modify the body shapes would let people actually fix some of the major clipping zones with their custom skins.
But oh well
then done
Really? That's the first I've heard of it. And I'm assuming you mean model, not texture, but anyway.
I suppose if that's the case, only certain parts of the body could be modified, like the plates and pieces that Prime Details swap out.
Because if they allowed that, the riggers would have to rig it every single time, for every single TennoGen model. That would in turn mean that DE would either not allow creators to remodel bodies(which is the case now) or slow down the acceptance contests so that the rigging team can allow the workload to actually be rigged.
The problem is that, as a full model, there are no textures between the ammo containers and the body. Say if you were to make the ammo container invisible, you'd actually be able to see inside of Mesa because there is no texture there. That's why the ammo container has to exist, or else there's gonna be a hole that you can't paint over. I don't know if I explained this correctly.
Or how about this: say you have wires in a pipe that connect into your wall, that allow your wires to go into the wall. If you remove the pipe(make the textures invisible), you'll just have a giant hole in your wall. Filling that hole up will be the equivalent to remodelling the body.
I really wish that TennoGen allowed custom created bodies. TennoGen creators have shown over and over again that they are capable of very high quality articles. However, the issues presented with it would outweigh the pros more than the cons.
names in warframe suck as it is but i doubt devs will go all the way and use words as devil, demon, satan etc
i think more neutral name will be much better, or even make up word what does not mean anything like Graxx
