XCOM 2
WotC: robojumper's Squad Select
heaven dog 15 Dec, 2021 @ 3:15am
Can only see 6 units, then chooses random 2 units
disabled autofill, tried "Clear squad" and adding manually, every time it adds 2 random units without me knowing. It's not a huge deal, as I just have to treat it like a difficulty modifier and just do 2 less units and hope for the best. but i haven't seen this issue brought up elsewhere.

turns out I didn't install everything properly, in that I wasn't using the alternate mod launcher right. Check if your squad select menu looks as complex as the example photos, mine didn't have the 4 stacked boxes that show each guys armor, and 3 weapons so i Just re installed everything.

Had the same issue. Seems in my case it is a conflict with the „Long War of the Chosen“-Mod. When disabling that Mod the „WotC: robojumper's Squad Select“ works well.
Finally two steps help solving the issue. I recommend to reinstall X-Com, first. And second, move to the „/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/XCOM 2/XCOM2Data/xcom2-warofthechosen/xcomgame/config“-folder (MacOS; Win should be something similar), open the „DefaultGameData.ini“-file using a text editor (make a copy of that file before) and change the „MaxSoldiersOnMission“-value to 8.
Currently it’s running without any problems. Hope it’ll help.

Clear your configs, that's probably the most likely culprit. XcomEngine.ini can get mod class overrides baked into it sometimes, and cause them to conflict with the mod trying to implement them the next time you run the game. Go to the My Documents folder, then My Games, the XCOM2 WotC folder, XcomGame, Config. Delete XcomEngine.ini and it'll be rebuilt by the game the next time you launch. Hope this solution works cause it worked perfectly for me and even solved many other problems with other mods too! :Miller:

I'm sorry but this isn't a very helpful comment; what exactly are we doing wrong an how do I correct it?

well i was asking a question, not posing a solution. just letting you guys know what my issue was - which was use the AML instead of Steam. I thought putting -noredscreen was enough to run it from steam. Also, this was before the official release on steam, which is probably a lot easier/different from me as i had to do everything manually before.

Huge thanks and upvote for this, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! This has been bugging me for ages and deleting the INI fixed it! It took me a few launches to get the mods to register again, so don't worry to those who think they've bricked their game, same with the hair mods, all the models were showing as bald but when I loaded into a game it was all fine!

Mine did, but speaking of screenshots, where in amongst the screenshots are you supposed to click to see/config the 7th(or 8th) soldier?

Edit: Never mind. i just figured out that you're supposed to click and drag the bottom of the screen as if you're on a touchscreen device like smartphone/iPad(or something).

New Edit: Scrolling with the mousewheel also lets me change the soldiers to gear them up individually.

That doesn't work for me:/ deleting the XComEngine.ini just removes all of my mods...

Na, you have to un-select any mod in the mod menu, then re-select it back on, it'll refresh your entire list into the ini.

Also for outfits, download apperance manager mod and it'll save them automatic.
When you reload the mod the above way it'll say "Lost character pool appearance, restore backup data?" or something like that.

Mouse wheel to rotate the troops workin good.
