The C & D path (as detailed in the latest ModDB article) will have long lasting impacts to your decisions and playstyle, but I (sadly) don't have the tools at the moment to do such things. That'll change later.
A lot of the lore, right now, is only hinted at. The beast in Drika's camp, for example, was held in Collinpeak, but there isn't any explanation as to what it is. That'll change in future expansions; any questions you have now will likely be answered then.
Some of the lore points you brought up are already explained in the lore books & notes, like where crete comes from (in a book that talks about spirit energy in the Therium).
The story does actually tie into Lugaru, but the Overgrowth Campaign is not canon. It's shown in the latest B path epilogue level, where Ghost leaves Gunk's hut, that he lives in the same site as Turner's family did, but reveals Turner never went to the slaver mainland (in the Overgrowth campaign) and instead died alone and buried with his family.
It's honestly one of my favourite levels.
The C path probably won't reveal too much new stuff about Jairo, but the D path's very likely to. There's already a tonne of hinting at who he "works" for, but there's never any concrete, definitive proof or "aha" moment, which might change in an expansion.
I do admit that there isn't too much info about the Arliss Empire, which I really want to change in an update. I want at least three more lore books around the A path about the Arliss Empire and how it functions, but for now they'll remain somewhat vague.
The Urista people, however, will be thoroughly explored in the C path. You'll eventually figure out the entire story of the ancient people, its traditions and origins, and everything inbetween.
Again, thank you so much for playing and enjoying Therium-2. I hope you enjoy my next projects.
I got just as caught up in all of the game as the other two here, after overgrowth i was impressed with a solid, pleasant experience. Lugaru left me kinda sad and then came Therium 2, which I just now completed and am currently trying to recover my jaw which dropped to the ground somewhere along the ride. Drika's Story is a nice dessert currently but feels a little unfinished. Very nice finding out more about the world and culture tho.
I have some questions of course, aside from which has already been asked.
In Ouran, at night, on the left cliff a little over from the banjo player (I so hope he gets a little story and screentime oh boy) I can hear some muffled voices and weeping from one of the houses I think. What the hell is going on there?
Also, Gunk and Turner are so much alike in looks and attitude that I'm kinda convinced that's actually the same rabbit. Maybe he found a way to skip time in the Therium or something.
Talking Crete now - It's magical and spiritstuff all right but sometime between screens I read that there were two types - black and white. Also the first grave that the elder gods createt had red crem(edit oops wrong genre). I can think of precisely one place that has red crete too and that's Lugaru. (edit also the desert maps oops. Also maybe that isn't crete at all but it does look a lot like it)
Did I understand right that the gods fought (also if wolf and rabbit gods fought what's with the other animals? don't they get gods?) and a lot died and the Therium is their graveyard which also extends into the real world so you can fast travel (Jairo made prrrretty clear that 'we' wish no sentients colonializing the Therium but what's with traders? maybe? okay maybe not) buuut did they bury them all? What's with the remaining ones? Do they just drop crete like lego all over the world or what? And is that their ribcages oh my.
Also did a little of Watership Down seep into the Names (Fiver and I believe there was a Clover too) or was that coincidence?
..Giant Cicadas that rythmically devastate the landscape? Oh hell yes!
I half agree on what Fluffy here said about the ending where Amos goes back home. Maybe it's not clear or cinematic enough that - as far as i understood it - Amos did fight back and also he tried to hide first because Jairo and the things he saw on his journey made him a little woozy in the head. I think it's completely understandable to be afraid when the dude only you can see suddenly appears in your home city after you think it's finally going to be all right, is visible to others and you know he's gonna kill them all. Then probably dissapear as usual.
Another teeny tiny critique is that while i find it really entertaining and a nice touch how pompous the cat speech is, the scene with Terai and Folti is just a tad too long (maybe because Folti likes talking so much but yeah). You got really nice dialogues and characters tho.
All right that's all I can think of for now I hope my theorizing is funny for you if you read this Constance. And honestly with Watership Down being my favourite book and my little aggressive child-me-memories of an anthropomorphic stuffed toy lamb (not quite a rabbit) which was my all time favourite toy and I pretended it would fight with the other stuffed animals and tottally kicked their asses - ignoring the cute ribbon it had on its head - Yeah I think i can legitimately say this is a fuggin' dream for me. Awesome work.
Just a bit of environmental storytelling. The final days of the cicadan cycle are tough to chew, and even harder to swallow.
Gunk will have his time to shine. In truth, he couldn't be any more different than Turner.
The gods of each sentient species were nought but seeds who gave birth to free will. Animals like birds, insects and cattle have no free will, and are thus controlled by the base spirits that control the world after the elder gods' demise.
The 'ribcage' formations around the Therium have been theorized to be remains of the elder gods. Crete around the world is created by the base spirits, for reasons that cannot be understood by mere sentient beings... yet.
