Using ABA with other AI mods
ABA is generally very compatible with anything, but other AI mods are sometimes a point where things can clash.

I do not suggest using other AI mods that do sweeping global changes, because honestly i think that ABA should have these kind of things already covered.

If you want to use a mod that focuses on a single enemy type, you do however have the option of disabling the AI from my mod so you enable that other mod to do its thing.

To do this:

1) open the XComAI.ini that comes in the Config folder of my mod
2) Scroll down until you find a block of lines that looks like this: like this[cdn.discordapp.com]. There will always be a header that states which unit is affected by the following lines and then two lines applying the AI from my mod. One of this lines starts with a "-", the other with a "+". You can easily jump to this part by Ctrl+F'ing for "::" (that's two colons).
3) Find the enemy/enemies, you want ABA to no longer modify.
4) Delete the appropriate "-" and "+" line

Save and close the XComAI.ini.

ABA will now no longer modify the behavior selection of that enemy, opening up that space for other mods to do fancy things.
An example for mods that can be made compatible this way is Adv Priest Revamped.

Do I really need to delete the lines or is it enough to put a ";" in front? I'm always a bit hesitant to completely delete lines ^^

Yeah sure, commenting them out via ";" is absolutely fine as well.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding… Author of [WotC] World War L wrote that his mod SHOULD be compatible with ABA. I am playing with both and they both work, though sometime there are your mod lost only and sometime his “zombies” only.
Based on your words it would be better to put “;” before your lost if I want ABA to no longer modify?

Or for what I understood (and if well…) the mod order with AML says that the mod after prevail the mod before: could be a solution to put ABA before [WotC] World War L?
Thanks

World War L and ABA are 100% compatible with each other, no matter the load order. The game is perfectly able to throw ABA Boomers and WWL Brutes into a pod together and the modifications that our mods do to the Lost are stacking on top of each other perfectly fine.
If you want to be particularly paranoid, sub to ABA first, then to WWL to give priority to WWL, but it really shouldn't matter.

Personally, i have used both WWL and ABA since they were on the Workshop (well, technically i have been using ABA even longer :P) and i had zero issues with those mods working together.

Great to see ABA and WWL play nice together. Does that apply to the other creative xeno enemy mods (Bio Division, Omega Berserker, Even More Robots, Advent Psi Ops) as well or are there any particular ones that conflict in any way?

I am not aware of any problems with any of the cx mods.

Is ABA compatible with Yellow alert?
DerBK  [developer] 1 Sep, 2019 @ 11:19am
Yep, i use it myself.

I tried playing with your recommended app and it crashes on startup everytime , ABAdventDLC. I wish more computer savvy, and could figure out why.

The conflict that is displayed in the mod launcher (the Wallclimb thing) is a false positive and nothing to worry about. It's just two mods doing the exact same thing. There are several other mods by now that also do this, it's nothing to worry about.

ABA and WWL are 100% compatible, there is no doubt about it. Many, many people including myself have been using this combo ever since release of those mods without ever having an issue.

Whatever is causing your crashes, it has to be something else. Please go through general troubleshooting as outlined in my FAQ.

Hey DerBK, I've been wondering if ADVENT Avenger's Panic Mod would conflict with ABA at all? Specifically the changes to panic. I've read conflicting reports regarding compatibility between the two mods and was wondering if you had an idea.

Regards.

I would think that you can use that mod with ABA. Sub to ABA first, then to the Panic mod. Then they would be able to override ABA's changes with their own due to load order. ABA's changes to panic are minor (just some rejuggling of the panic tree) and can easily be pasted over by the bigger changes done there.

Note that ABA allows enemies to target panic'd soldiers with their attacks and unless manually removed from ABA's AI.ini, that mod here wouldn't override this. But i would think that particular change is very well in theme with what ADVENT Avenger is doing ;)

Ah, thanks for the clarification DerBK. Much appreciated.

A very late question but does your mod work with "A Better Chosen"? Sorry if that's already been stated, I tried finding out myself but I couldn't find anything.

Wait, I am an idiot, I just realized you're the same modder. God, I am a fool sometimes. I must've skimmed over when you were talking about your own mods thinking they were not the same thing.
