The archon and the chosen roll back the updates.
I really like fashion updates, but what makes changes to gaming units (their abilities) can cause at best a violation of balance, and at worst - conflict (pliablya aliens). For example, the ability of the elected and their AI is better to roll. It is also better to return the soldier's sectoids back. Well, that's up to you.

It's a change in vanilla. Mods that use them can be poorly balanced (Playable Aliens).
