Mod improvement Ideas - 'everyday' Events
Heya Dubs, first of Thanks for your Great mods, they got part of my every Rimworld playthrough now. But i feel like The Nuclear Power comes with not enough tradeoff in my opinion. Its just too reliable..
For example is it planned that the reactor nearly fully manages itself? Wouldnt it be an idea to have Pawns automatically (need) to manage the Reactor to keep everything running smoothly?
Just like Pawns get onto the Rimefeller Ressource console every once in a while. Technically im thinking about a decaying hidden value Wich needs to topped up to prevent some incidents.

Wich is the second thing irritating me. It seems like the Turbines never need Maintenance and run 24/7 over Years. Would it be possible to have them break down and stop producing power? (maybe with reduced cooling power?)
Maybe also an Incident with loud Rattling Noices from the Turbine wich Decreaces its efficency and lower the Turbine Capacity until you fix it with some new blades (like breaking down but with turbine blades to fix instead of components)

Another Idea would be a (yearly?) Maintanence Episode wich forces you to shutdown your Reactor for a while so you need to Survive for a while on low energy or have enough reserves..

Thats what i thought of spontaneous, im Sure there are a lots of things that could be added or thought of if that idea suites you. What do you think?

The events would likely be nicer if it is "maintenance" related events overall, decrease in efficiency, cooling getting effected, stuff like that. Something that isn't just "Shut off", overall I do actually agree.

Replace some blades in the turbine once in a while (requiring it to be turned off while replacing, so you can have two turbines for reliability).

A coolant pipe burst reducing cooling output, and if left unattended will inevitably lead to a severe problem.

stuff like that, I certainly agree would make it more interesting.

i mainly get complaints about it being too much hassle compared to just vanilla power with doing all of the manual fuel management and having the spent fuel to manage, rather than complaints about it not being complicated enough, so i pushed it as far as most of the public want it to go really

I do actually think some basic maintenance stuff (since you don't have breakdown) that mostly doesn't cost components could work

Could there be an advanced version and a simple version? If someone is allowed to make an addon for that
