Make Peace, Not War

[INFO] Future Plans and Things I can't add
NEAR FUTURE PLANS (MOST LIKELY NEXT UPDATE):

  • Integrating the submods to the vanilla mod and selecting the mods you are using via a startup event or scripted GUI
  • Usage of scripted GUI. The player should select a border state for the DMZ instead of all border states becoming a DMZ as it is now
  • The player will also be able to select the country he/she wants peace with
  • Peace conference decision, when enabled, will also be a choice before each conference. This way players can chose if they want to have the vanilla conference or the standard state transfer
  • An Addon for some scripted whitepeace scenarios. Germany and UK, "Bitter Peace" between Germany and the USSR, Indian Civil War in case the Allies joined or China reclaiming the port cities. This will be a seperate mod, intended to be played together with MPNW
  • Scripted effects and triggers for some code (e.g. state transfers or laws)



DISTANT FUTURE PLANS:

  • A MASSIVE rework of the whole mod. Currently most features were added with the time but the old structure was left. This created various issues and patching the mod became a real headache
    The rework will surely take some time but move "Make Peace" closer to a finished status
  • Major powers mediating peace between minor, factionless countries
  • Allowing minor nations (AI) to conclude peace on their own
  • I will re-enable the option for the AI to ask the player for peace. It's currently deactivated due to a lot of issues but this is only a temporary solution
  • Searching for a way to combine the events with the "justified states mechanic"
  • Updating, reworking and restructuring the localisation
  • Fixing bugs and optimize the code, as always



THINGS I WON'T/CAN'T ADD:

  • While it's now possible to trigger the peace conference from vanilla, I can't restrict the player or the AI from taking too much. Modifying AI peace behaviour (e.g. to let them decline in case of you taking states you don't control) would make this mod incompatible with AI overhaul mods.
  • Peace between players - Use the superior diplomacy button "Offer Peace" for this
  • Peace between AI countries. While this would be interesting, it could screw with the game balance and stop WW2 right after it begins. There are already some mods to allow e.g. a whitepeace between UK and Germany once France is done. However, I may allow minors to have war with each other
