Did you know that between 1906 and 1928 there was an electrical tram way all the way from Glasgow, via Dumbarton to Alexandria and Balloch? I only found out when I was in a pub in Balloch and saw a picture on the wall. There is not much left of it apart from the old tracks still hidden beneath the streets, a few pictures and this very informative article online:
