Alan was part of a United States Spec Ops Team during the war. However once the war ended he started his own private war against ADVENT. After one of his ambushes on an ADVENT Purification team. He came into a bit of a confrotntation with Volk and his Reapers, after a heated arguement he agreed to work with Volk as long as he was not held back.
Many had turned to their individual faiths during the initial war, especially for [Operator Name], whose father was a priest at a church in their hometown in [Country of Origin]. After witnessing the execution of his Mother and Father for not turning back on their beliefs and accepting the Elders as their new gods, an emotionally unstable [Operator Name] unleashed an unstable blast of psionic energy, killing the ADVENT forces in the building.
Geist found [Operator Name] hiding in the ruins of his/her Father's ruined church and took him/her to refine his/her psionic abilities. He/She keeps his/her father's old bible as a keepsake as well as morale.
The old world government of [country] had barely started screening candidates for psionic soldiers when the aliens arrived. [name] and a handful of psionic hopefuls were led to a remote hideout and were instructed to stay there and await further instructions. After years of waiting, some of the survivors began hearing a voice. That voice belonged to Geist.
[name] was a member of an isolated, tribal community of people living in the wilderness of [country] when the aliens came to Earth. A visiting Templar noticed that while [name] barely understood technology, [he/she] had an innate psionic ability.
REAPER
[name] is a wartime holdout from an earlier, long forgotten war. [he/she] refused all attempts at human contact and hid out in the wilderness near [country] for decades, until [he/she] saw a nearby city go dark and quiet. The first conversation [he/she] had in many years was with a puzzled Reaper who noticed [his/her] extremely old military uniform.
[name] has a deep knowledge of homemade explosives, has a large collection of pre-war maps, and avoids everyone from [country]. [he/she] does not respond to questions about [her/his] former line of work.
[name] used to belong to a deep cover Reaper cell in urban [country], feeding intelligence back to the resistance through a complicated series of dead drops. When ADVENT caught on, [he/she] had to abandon the city and learn how to use a gun.
[name] was actually one of the original engineers who designed the Vektor rifle. The Reapers were surprised to discover [he/she] was also actually pretty good with it.
SKIRMISHERS
[name] was the first one in his city patrol to notice several ADVENT troopers wearing the wrong colors approaching them. Soon after, [he/she] lost his psionic link and gained a mild anxiety regarding stun lances.
[name] was assigned to the first wave of ADVENT Purifiers - little more than grunts with rifles. [He/she] quietly kept the malfunctioning of [his/her] chip to [himself/herself], until [he/she] was sent to "evict" squatters in [country] with a flamethrower.
[name] used to be a Chryssalid handler in [country]. After becoming a Skirmisher, [he/she] has taken to collecting insects. Nobody is quite sure if there is any connection.
Skirmisher scouts found [name] heavily injured at the site of a supply raid on the highways of [country]. [He/She] now participates eagerly in the same types of raids that nearly killed him.
A group of resistance fighters captured [name] and a few other fellow ADVENT troopers in a raid. They held and tortured them in the forests of [country] for weeks, until the Skirmishers showed up and cut a deal for [his/her] life.
[name]'s only clear memory of his previous life is of a [woman/man] [he/she] had once met in [country].
"[name] played alot of Fallout games he/she stashed after the aliens took over. He/She couldn't remove the "CREATION CLUB NOTFICATION" because the modding Nexus died with the invasion. Because of his anger towards Todd Howard, he began to learn from his favorite games and eventually became a reaper.
Every alien he see, he/she imagines Todd Howards face.
He/She don't miss often."
...
I'm just kidding.
[name] was apparently an infamous terrorist, known for several bombings of public buildings in [country]. [he/she] managed to make contact with the Reapers post-Invasion, and has been bombing ADVENT facilities ever since.
TEMPLAR
Some time before the invasion, neuroscientists in [country] discovered Psionics. [name] was one of them, and [he/she] performed rigurous self-experimentation to study this new field of neuroscience, becoming one of the first Psionic humans. [name] was found by the Templars wandering aimlessly with nothing but a pistol and [his/her] labcoat.
REAPER
[name] was a hardcore prepper who immediately relocated to a custom-built bunker in the outskirts of [country] when Earth surrendered. After trading supplies with the Reapers with years, [he/she] was persuaded to join them full time when growing numbers of Lost threatened to overwhelm [his/her] bunker.
A team of Reapers found [name] while passing through an abandoned city in [country]. [He/she] had been subsisting on scraps alone for years, and was already familiar with a long rifle and the Reaper diet.
There used to be a group of guerillas raiding ADVENT supply trains in [country]. When their leadership was wiped out in an ADVENT counterattack, the survivors, including [name], assimilated into the Reapers.
1) [NAME] had been an exemplar Riot Control Unit serving since the early years of ADVENT in [COUNTRY]'s City Centre. It wasn't until [HIS/HER] Stun Rod got replace with a more lethal variant that the weapon interfered with [NAME]'s control chip, and made [HIM/HER] begin questioning ADVENT's tactics.
2) [NAME] would have been lunch for the Reapers had the Skirmishers not cut a deal to free [NAME] and take [HIM/HER] into their custody.
3) [NAME] by all counts should have been dead when [HE/SHE] encountered the Skirmishers the first time. A heated battle on the outskirts of [COUNTRY]'s capital lead to [NAME] meeting the love of [HIS/HER] life, a Skirmisher warrior who knocked [HIM/HER] out instead of delievering the killing strike.
4) Found in the sewers below the ruined capital of [COUNTRY], [NAME] had been injured during a Lost Purification Operation and left behind when [HIS/HER] squad was overrun. By some spot of good fortune, the Skirmishers found [NAME] in the sewers and brought [HIM/HER] back to HQ.
5) A new convert to the Skirmishers, [NAME] is quiet among [HIS/HER] squadmates, more because [HE/SHE] is still getting the hang of not speaking the ADVENT Common Language around humans.
6) Something went 'wrong' by ADVENT's standards when [NAME] was created in a Forge Facility in [COUNTRY]. [HE/SHE] and her fellow hybrids were not adapting to ADVENT's control network, and so were put on a kill order. [NAME] and a few others managed to escape the facility and meet up with the Skirmishers who had sabatoged the link in the first place.
7) [NAME] isn't sure what [HIS/HER] squadmates are doing when they hum the 'Man-Spider' song, every time [HE/SHE] grapples on the battlefield. [NAME] isn't sure why [HIS/HER] squadmates are obsessed with 'giving the Vipers a taste of their own medicine'. Humans are very confusing to [NAME].
Update going out now.
1) NAME shouldn't be alive right now. A former Purifier, s/he got into a firefight with Resistance forces that eventually caused his/her fuel tank to detonate. His/her broken body was recovered by the Skirmishers. It's still not clear as to how NAME is alive and well - some suspect cybernetics were involved - but s/he has taken to free life remarkably well, and doesn't seem to bear any ill will towards the Resistance as a whole. (not sure if purifiers can survive explosions, but what the heck)
2) From time to time, ADVENT Troopers develop quirks. On their own, they're fairly harmless. Coupled with defective control chips, they can turn a mindless drone into a living being of its own. Such is the case with NAME, who developed a quirk for his/her Captain, and preferred to stay close to said Captain at all times. After the Captain joined the Skirmishers, s/he, by this time outfitted with a failing chip, chose to follow his/her beloved officer to the Skirmishers and freedom.
3) Sometimes, when ADVENT screws up, it does so in a truly spectacular manner. Not long after NAME was produced in a Forge facility in COUNTRY, s/he began to believe that s/he was a loyal, 100% human citizen with a happy family. During a mission against the resistance, NAME's helmet was knocked off. When s/he saw his/her reflection in a mirror... that was the night everything changed.
4) NAME, a former ADVENT Priest, doesn't know where s/he fits. On one hand, the Templars offer him/her top-rate psionic training. On the other hand, s/he feels a much greater kinship with his/her fellow freed hybrids. Despite the allure of psionics, s/he has chosen to neglect advanced psionic training in favor of using what little of it s/he has to protect his/her fellow hybrids.
5) NAME likes throwing non-Skirmisher Resistance members for a loop with his/her snarky insights. Of particular note is that if Dateline still existed, those who showed interest in hybrids would be told to 'take a seat over there'. NOTE FROM CENTRAL: NAME kind of has a point if you think about when most of these hybrids were most likely grown. (Is this one breaking the rules?)
6) NAME is with the Skirmishers not because of a faulty chip, but because s/he screwed up really badly. A grenade meant for a Resistance fighter accidentally killed an ADVENT VIP, and NAME was slated for disposal. S/he was able to escape the disposal facility and, despite orders to return and be recycled, made it to a Skirmisher camp where s/he had his/her chip removed. Even now, his/her fellow hybrids keep him/her away from explosives as best as they can.
7) NAME is generally businesslike during combat. S/he kills the enemy, but doesn't hate them. The only time this professional demeanor cracks, though, is when s/he fights the ADVENT-aligned 'Dark Collaborators'. When fighting them, indifference gives way to a brutal and frightening rage, one that is expressed through incendiary rounds and grenades. In NAME's mind, the only thing worse than the Elders and ADVENT are the humans who have willingly betrayed their own species simply to benefit themselves.
8) NAME loves war. Bred to fight, s/he revels in the purpose s/he was created for. Where others would flee, s/he boldly charges forth. This has made him/her a seasoned combat veteran of the Skirmishers, though it should be noted that s/he is a hothead.
9) NAME is known by his/her fellow hybrids and even some outside the Skirmishers as a bit of a clown. Someone once made the mistake of introducing him/her to the idea of pranking. Nowadays, s/he delights in bellowing off-key, mocking songs as well as abusing the local Resistance propaganda effort to create false romantic advertisements for his/her fellow Skirmishers.
10) NAME is an ADVENT General who somehow survived an encounter with a Resistance assassin. His/her chip was damaged during the fight, and s/he has served ADVENT long enough to know his/her fate should s/he return to ADVENT. For better or worse, s/he took his/her chances with freedom, and has grown very fond of an Elder-free life.
MOR BALATEN received and added with thanks.
This is based off of the MOCX mod and the 'Reclaimed' MOCX.
1) Some particularly sadistic members of MOCX go into battle with the once-freed and then subsequently re-enslaved 'Reclaimed'. When MOCX's presence is confirmed on the field, the Skirmishers send NAME out to fight, and his/her purpose on the battlefield is twofold - to end the Reclaimed's misery once and for all, and then to exact revenge on the human traitors that caused the Reclaimed such misery. NAME does the former with a grim efficiency and the latter with a frankly horrifying glee. His/her reputation is such that the more junior members of MOCX tend to break ranks and flee on contact with him/her, for all the good it does.
2) It's no secret that ADVENT sometimes manages to recapture freed hybrids and, for whatever reason, re-enslaves them instead of executing them before assigning them to various propaganda efforts such as the infamous MOCX. While NAME can't bring him/herself to fight the Reclaimed due to his/her emphaty for their plight, s/he more than makes up for it by, when not serving on the field, working with Tygan and Shen to find a way to permanently break the hold ADVENT has over the re-enslaved.
3) When reports of ADVENT re-subjugating freed hybrids began to crop up, NAME, known among the Skirmishers as a highly effective warrior, transferred from active duty to protecting defenseless freed hybrids. S/he remembers the abuses s/he suffered at the hands of the Elders and is hell-bent on ensuring that the hybrids under his/her care no longer have to suffer the attention of those who would come to victimize them for their own pleasures.
(name) has always been a recluse as a kid. S/he was extrordinarily average, nothing interesting about him/her. (name) has always been good at disappearing to the point where it's become a habit. When ADVENT attacked his/her hometown and killed his/her family, s/he attacked; but not by rushing in, s/he attacked from the shadows and killed several ADVENT troopers, an officer and even a berserker. When Volk and several Reapers arrived, they saw him/her stringing up the corpses. When Volk asked if s/he did all this; s/he simply nodded. Volk then gave him/her a spare rifle and said "Welcome to the Reapers."
When the resistance looked up his/her name; they found nothing. S/he was serious when s/he gave us his/her name. When questioned, Volk said "All of his/her records were destroyed in the war. Even I'm not sure of his/her name is real. But there's no one stealthier than someone that doesn't exist."
Skirmishers
(name)'s unit was sent a resistance haven to 'quell' them. S/he didn't understand at the time that they were going to kill them. S/he didn't participate much in the fighting; mostly deploying his/her shield for his/her comrades. When (name) and her commander cornered civilians; his/her captian ordered him/her to kill them as he readied his own rifle. S/he saw the fear in their eyes and how the children were held protctivly. (name) fired. . . on his/her commander. S/he then tore off her armor and put on any other armor nearby and went to help the people.
(name) was implanted with a broken chip right form the start. S/he new s/he had to keep up the act if s/he wanted to be free. The first chance (name) got; s/he bolted, ending up in a suburben area and got a job acting as a bodyguard for the mayor of the town. When the mayor asked (name) where s/he was staying; s/he said "I don't have a home." The mayor practically forced (name) to stay with her family, eventually being seen as one of their own. ADVENT came to pick thier rouge trooper; s/he complied but only if his/her family's safety was garunteed. (name)'s transport truck was attacked and disabled by the skirmishers. When (name) asked about his/her family; one skirmisher said in a somber tone "Gunned down as soon as your transport left." S/he has hated the elders with a passion ever since.
That's all I got for now.
