For the camera zoom etc. it's still WIP.
Moving the camera caused issue since the GUI is in 3D, so for now it moves the soldier instead.
(edit: plus this feature will probably be moved into a separate mod eventially).
Concerning the GUI bloat, versions prior to v2.12 used to have only 3-4 checkboxes ("show all tech levels" ; "show all genders" ; etc.).
But these loose filters made the list grow considerably bigger, and it could be painful to find something specific in a big list, espetially since the game often freezes to load the part under the cursor (for preview).
I might hide the edit button however (It's mostly there to help me and other modders to categorize body parts).
For the hero parts restriction, I suppose you are talking about randomization ? (Otherwise soldiers should never get parts from other character type on their own)
There's persistent settings (in randomization->options) to set the draw chance for non-essential parts (except forearms, I forgot).
You have to clic on the "confirm" button to save (that's not ideal I know).
- AFAIK there's no other mod to import outfit only from CharPool (without replacing face/race/names/etc.).
- Copy/Paste is to transfert outfit from an armor to another when upgrading armors.
(Image 3)
- Solders don't have any armor in character pool, so the list shows everything by default, Use filters if you are looking for something specific.
- Both genders are never shown by default.
(Image 4)
- Some torsos already have legs/arms, so invisible legs/arms are required to avoid clipping issue due to 4 legged/handed soldiers.
- Invisible torso was a request : https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1150571114
(image 7) It's sometimes acceptable, like with Icarus Armor : https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/884258877076857490/C8880CC74E2B6550521D470414AE86B2619FE7C4/ and probably some modded armors.
(Image 2)(image 5)(image 6)(image 8)(Last Image) If you don't need a feature, just don't use it...
