Would changing/removing the swim ceilings of wild plesiosaurs and mosasaurs be in the realm of possibility? Tis a shame mosas can't breach like their dossier picture.

Mod looks great, love the general idea of it. However when spawning in a lot of these creatures they all spawned under the world even if i moved into fly mode. The smaller creatures are a little too fast in movement speed making it tricky too get your hands on one of these lil critters. I don't know if all your spawncodes are there for the creatures it seems there are more specialised creatures on the pictures on the main steam page than i can see on the list (or am i missing something?- i realise this converts a lot of vanilla dinos) >when spawning in the specialised poison or treats they wouldn't spawn in for me - Testing this too see if it is a suitable mod for a youtube series. Mod looks promosing :)

@♥Milkshake♥ - Howdy! If you're using spawndino command, their position above/below ground is determined by the direction you look. If you're looking down at the ground when spawning, that may be why they're spawning under the world.

If you just want to summon a tamed version of a creature, GMsummon is the command you would want to use instead. EX:"Cheat gmsummon "02h_raptor_character_bp_c" 150

150 here means the level of the pre-tamed level creature that is being spawned.

Check my New Creatures & Items thread for info on the new creatures you're seeing in some of my screenshots.

EDIT: I've also adjusted the spawndino information so that it shouldn't be so awkward to use. The info I originally had was making the dino spawn 15 meters ahead of you. That's almost certainly way too much. I've reduced it to 5 meters (500.)

Also, if you're still more comfortable with SpawnDino, you can also freeze them (and any other dinos) with the "playersonly" console command. Makes life a lot easier if you prefer using spawn dino.

@EishKrooked - I didn't even know they were supposed to do that according to their dossiers! There might be a way to adjust this, but I am not certain how at the moment. I would at least like to adjust it so that the occasional mosasaur or plesiosaur that spawns near the surface don't become as mindless and confused as they currently do.

I have a bit of a list if you're looking for TLC/additions things that might be fitting.

1 - would it be possible for ichthyosaurus to jump like the manta?

2 - how about a rideable dragonfly? Scaled to the size of a ptera, able to climb like the changed spiders and scorpions, and can fly in all directions like the tapejara. Would prefer fish to eat, standard knockout tame, but doesn't have a saddle.

3 - let raptors go into a prone like the player when you press "x" that reduces speed (obviously) and also gives a stealth boost against ai. When you come out of prone you get a +75% speed boost from normal and 10x attack power for 0.3 seconds, to give a sort of "ambush" boost.

4 - sorry, this one is gonna be long as it has some specifics.

change certain dino's male and female colors to be more realistic.

Argentavis
Make light greys, whites, and reds more common in male argentavis, darker greys, browns, and blacks in females.

Pteranodon
Male pteranodons should more commonly have the brighter greens and reds and whites, and a rarer chance for purples, while the females are more dull.

Raptor
Male raptor's feathers should come in an assortment of bright reds, blues, and purples, with more greenish bodies. The females would be browns and greys on the body, with dull feathers.

Rex
Make white, red, and green more common on male rexes, blacks and greys on female.

Yutyrannus
The top mohawk type deal of feathers on yutyrannus, along with their crests, should always be the blues and reds, females should be browns and blacks.

Carno
Male carnos could use some red in there, while females I think look okay with the standard dull colors.

Trike
The males would be brighter, more color on the frill, reds, oranges, and rarely blues. Females would have the standard dull colors.

Tapejara
The females are wayyyy to bright. I'd say keep the bright colors on the males, make them more common on the crest. Have dark and dull on the females.

That's a few examples, can obviously be applied to other dinos too.

@Jelly Awesome thx for the speedy reply. I will poke around with the mod more tommorow & give you feedback. As for the looking up to spawn in creatures can it be changed? Like the creature spawning a few meters away from me alike other mods- :)
This is due to on the server I'm on we do dino battles which requires me too spawn in a lot of dinos for people to fight, i can see this being problematic when i need to look at the ground yet the dinos just go under the world.

@♥Milkshake♥ I've adjusted that so creatures spawn closer to you, re-copy/paste your spawn dino info!

@UwU// - It's actually very easy to do in the dev kit, and now that I've got a lot of the heavy lifting and dirty work done, I could definitely throw the boys a bone and give them some more brilliant & fancy colors. It certainly would be nice to have that loading screen tip actually be relevant in game!

For the model suggestions, unfortunately those would be a bit out of scope for Zero to Hero (plus, if the sabertooth remodel is anything to go by, WC will do a good job of redesigning the look of their creatures. I want to see what they do first.)

As for Ichthyosaurus doing a manta style jump, it's something I could look into the possibility of.

Funny you mention the rideable dragonfly - that almost made it into Zero to Hero's release. There's still a couple critters I'd like to add yet (big dragonfly among them), but I had to push them to later for the sake of focusing on polish & release.

Loving the quick reply, haha!. I wasn't exactly taking model changes, rather, an animation that puts the raptor into a prone with a stealth/ambush boost. I'm looking forward to what this mod becomes as it goes forward! It's already very well done
Jelly Gecko  [developer] 19 Nov, 2017 @ 8:16pm
@UwU// - Thank you for the appreciation!

As for the raptor, funny enough it already has crouching animations in the dev kit, and I actually did mess with giving it a pounce attack in the style of Kaprosuchus (no grabbing of enemies, but the same forward momentum and a hefty damage bonus.)

It felt like I was playing Primal Carnage again, but between the pack buff and making the raptor move so much faster at the time it was overpowered. But requiring a stalking stance for it could be a more balanced solution.

A stealth-mode that ends in a pounce is certainly possible, but would be complex to develop.

That's pretty awesome! This seems promising! I think I'll start a playthrough with this mod soon, see how everything works in practice!

How about Gigantoraptor? Basically would be an oviraptor scaled up. Can be ridden, and is considered a mid-game/pre-tek travel mount. It would be faster than gallimimus, have sharper turning, and have an okay attack. Should spawn around scorched earth. The only downfalls are larger carnivores having caught it off guard and no saddle. Bolas won't work on it, and only wyverns/quetzal can carry it, so it'd be a tame you have to chase.

I think making dinos afraid of a source of heat/fire, like a campfire, interesting as a protection early on. Making them ignore this if they get atacked to prevent some kind of exploit.

Actually I believe this is already an addition, read it in the ark patch notes somewhere. Or maybe it was just the troodon. If that's the case, it would be cool for other dinos to be afraid of it!
Jelly Gecko  [developer] 20 Nov, 2017 @ 5:55pm
Yeah, it was just for troodon.

It's something I hadn't thought of, it would be nice and make the early game more survivable if ALL creatures feared fire! (Except fire wyverns & phoenixes of course)

regarding the sexual dimosphism i dont think it should be true for every dino, cause the from my understanding it wasnt all that prevalent in dinosaurs, but for the birdlike dinos id be really cool, but this is just my two cents.
