The british army`s main battle tank it has a more powerful gun than the abrams and is a bit slower but can be equipped with explosive armour.

The rifled gun may be a bit more accurate, but its other drawbacks don't appear to make it worth it. In fact, the only advantage with the Rifled-120mm is that more ammo types are available for it, including HESH and WP. Both are missing from the M1 series.

The Challenger tanks only had superior armament to the early-production Abrams. The M1A1 and consecutive models match the Challenger in firepower.

It's worth noting that the 120 mm L30 doesn't get shaped charge ammunition. And HESH is just straight up useless against anything but bunkers.
The early-production M1 Abrams with the 105 mm Gun M68A1 had HEP (American designation for HESH) and WP rounds.
