How are you meant to play SFO orcs?
Playing Grom atm and it's honestly hell; not only am I being attacked from all directions but my economy is absolute ass even with multiple high tier regions I can barely sustain a decent 20 stack with some left over most of the time; the only way in SFO to raise this is to go raiding, but if I have my main army just raiding every turn instead of attacking I get nowhere and if I make a tiny army to sit around raiding it'll get deleted because every AI I'm fighting has multiple armies.

It just feels like SFO rather than making campaigns unique just opted to make factions like Dark elves and orcs feel bad to play.

You fight and sack, you generally get WAYYY more post battle loot compared to other factions so as long as you continue to fight you'll be swimming in gold. Expect to sustain an income of -5 to -8k a turn before you launch your invasion of ulthuan but by then you should be nearing 100k and you'll be solvent for awhile.

How I play grom is to run around with grom and a second lord pillaging far and wide. Skarnsik dies at end of turn 1, head to him by turn 10 to kill and confed him. Besides that you want to grab traits from alberic, faye, franz, gelt, the other empire guy in franz faction, and kimmler and all those traits can be gathered before turn 60. By the time you set sail for ulthuan you'll be rich and you'll be juiced to 11 from all the lord traits you just collected, you can take prob a full grom army + skarnsik with some units but then make a strong ass army to leave behind that can continue to pillage and plunder while you set sail.

All this is tested on highest difficulty, you just gotta get used to playing hyper aggressively. Oh also don't take any territory until you get to ulthuan, the starting province is the only thing you'll need.

As an orc main I think they're amazing to play in SFO :/ if anything they might be too strong, esp early game. Though that opinion is only valid for skarsnik, grom, and grimgor, I don't play wurzag and azhag(first is boring the later is unorcy).

Have to agree Playing SFO Greenskins is actually close to the Lore you fight and fight and fight some more which is baisically greenskins in a Nutshell :D

A tad old but yes I also agree, the GS are now much more constantly fighting, sacking and raiding then before and gain significantly more money and growth that way (which they now need due to most building requiring growth points).

It plays a lot differently, but then again that is the whole point of SFO to begin with.

One of my favourite ever campaigns when I realised even home regions aren't doing anything for me. Stack 'em with raiding bonus buildings & go raid, sack and plunder your 'orrible green heart out!

Going turn-to-turn with a huge deficit, finding a juicy city to sack at the last moment before going under, starting countless silly wars to get at said cities... honestly an absolute blast.
