Total War: WARHAMMER II

Total War: WARHAMMER II

SFO: Grimhammer II

When will the AI get fixed?
Right now the mod is unplayable, I wonder how nobody noticed it for so long.

I play as Caledor and I have all of the Dark Lands, then the Dark Elves declare war on me right after just because I border them in the old and new world.

What next happens is that this tiny 3 settlement faction fields 2-3 stacks + agents while I can just about afford one army. Meanwhile Caledor gets rekt cause I can only pay for one and my victories also dont matter cause the AI instantly rebuilds their armies.

Tell me please in what universe a heroic victory literally doesn't change the course of the war a single bit because a smaller country can magically replace that in an instant.

I also dont see other mods yet going about this issue, its a big shame cause its just not fun to play against an AI that has unlimmited money because nothing matters - your expansion, your victories and so on is all for nothing as everyone can always field more or snipes you.

Oh and if you make it through that you just snowball and its easymode. Great game.

That's just base game.

Yeah....you basically just described modern Total War. Go complain to CA. :/

(Just to be clear - it annoys me, too. You're just complaining at the wrong people.)

Its just that so many people say that sfo would take away the cheats and make things “equal”

"Right now the mod is unplayable, I wonder how nobody noticed it for so long."

Truly, with the mind-boggling number of hours I have in this game and mod, you're right, haven't noticed.

The documents for the mod describe how difficulty levels are to affect player, with I believe no change to AI from level to level. The AI still gets its vanilla background income, which the player does as well. And the AI doesn't have supply line issues, nor hero maintenance, which is vanilla (hard-coded? Don't know).

There is an Easy Submod. I like it for the early game. And I never snowball late game, but perhaps I suck.

For me its always the opposite, early game seems brutally difficult and extremely unfair - breaking any immersion. Its especially bad as very traditional factions but if I manage to survive that the steamroll starts literally xD

To me it feels unplayable cause jeez why do I bother having a high elf army if not just skaven can outnumber me 3:1 (thats fine) but also dark elves who are similar in quality x.x

That's basically base game. I'd recommend downloading the "Decent Economy Player Only" mod to make it better. Or there's one that boost player economy even more from the same creator of that mod if you think it's still unfair. I have it right now and although it feels like I am still not equal to the AI in terms of economy, it's very narrowed and much less noticeable. They still field like, dozens of effin' Heroes though on top of their several stacks strong armies on Legendary difficulty...

I also feel like some units and changes from SFO are kinda unbalanced from my playthrough but I'm not sure how to describe it well.

"I am still not equal to the AI in terms of economy"

"several stacks strong armies on Legendary difficulty"

Playing on higher than hard literally asks for unfair AI :D They dont get better beyond normal, their bonuses just get higher.

But thanks for the recommendation I'll give it a try, its not like I need that much of a big boost either.

Edit: That mod looks really extreme, 100% additional tax rate would already be on par with the AI more or less

If we set AI to no cheats it does nothing. Nothing we can fix in this game. I recommend using Easy Submod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1179938931

Wait are you telling me CA programmed the AI so badly that it cant function without massive boosts? :O I did not thought base-game AI is that bad x.x

Also I really appreciate your response, do you know if it is any different in WH3?
