[FEATURE] More Weapons mod
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561198076847108 proposed to create a similar mod for weapons.

I think creating 1 or 2 improved versions of the basic spear could be useful.

Similar to the poison and obsideon spears in shipwrecked? perhaps you could do a cliche gold spear, or throw that out the window, maybe something using stingers and/or hound teeth to make a sharpened or spiked spear, perhaps elemental spears using a gem or two. Just some ideas, hope they help :D

so far:

gems, teeth, stingers

i would leave gold out because i was planning to use it for the helmet ;D

thnx buddy :)

Just though I'd mention what the gem spears could do, while I'm here

-red: 30% chance to set fire
-blue: 60% chance to apply a slowness debuff
-purple: 20% chance for target to drop 1-3 nightmare fuel when slain
-orange: 25% chance to teleport target away before they attack
-yellow: 40% chance to make target glow with similar radius of a lantern
-green: 10% chace for target to drop double when slain (doesn't work on certain items like pig skin, deerclopse eye, ancient horn, anything that there would only be a set number of)

Just some ideas I had, may need tweaking or balanceing, but I think they are pretty neat,

The orange one doesn't seem practical to be honest. Teleporting an enemy away from you before they attack, do you mean that they get teleported anywhere on the map or a couple meters away? Because I don't think it would be practical if they get teleported to a random location. Also shouldn't blue be % chance to freeze your enemy, and not give a slowness debuff. Yellow seems situational and not really that good. Red could cause a very bad situation, the mob loot would burn, the enviroment could burn down too. :DSTpigman:

Blue only gives slowness for balanceing purposes, because, once you freeze them once It will keep freezing them frequently, since 60% is alot, so slowness seems most fair, it also decreasees thier attack speed in addition, also the Oragnge spear only teleports the mob away when they are going to attack you, they will be teleported a few meters away if you would have been hit by the attack they were going to do, And yes the fire could start a forest fire, or burn the loot, the elemental spears are supposed to be preferrance or situational, for example: killing hounds from a hound mound, use fire spear. Killing something that is hard to kite, use ice spear, not good at kitng, use lazy spear. Need nightmare fuel and have a hound wave coming, be sure to hit them with the nightmare spear once or twice. Killing clockworks and need more gears, green spear, Almost night and the Deerclopse will be finished by midnight if you fight on, but you have no fire, and your good on heat, use the Light Spear!

over complicate with gems; just red, blue and purple. Except with purple being Treasure Hunter - increasing rare drops rates and chance for double loot. Also is it possible for red-tipped spears to not burn drops?

Teeth can make Scythe? that are a bit stronger than spears give a bleed effect. A DOT for 5s dealing 50% of the dmg done per second.

Got me thinking either lifesteal to regain hp per % of dmg done or getting stronger like increasing max hp or dmg.

The bone one on the left since it has teeth but with a spiked spear on top like the two on the right

Stinger can make a morning star whether a regular spiked mace or spiked flail... Oh wait spears? do halberd count? cause as long as they have a sharp tipped end on top it's technically still a spear? I haven't played shipwrecked, but poison can increase dmg done by reducing armor per hit whether stacking up 3 times for a total of 15% less armor

"doesn't want to over complicate" claims Valerdi "howza bout we throw in Halberds, Sythes, and More!!!". Halberds are axes with a spear tip, they are completely different weapons, no matter what Nintendo or other companies say. Also, where the heck did Sythes come from!? They aren't even spears, this is a more SPEARS mod, I'm not trying to be rude but they belong in a different mod. Also, what is the problem with using the six main gems, the 3 "surface gems" (red, blue, purple) and the "ruins gems" (yellow, green, orange), using irridesent gem would be over complicating. seeing as it's only use is to fight the Ancient Fuel Weaver, essentially more rare loot, more powerful gear. (eg with the log suits: wood>rocks>bone shards). Thats all I wanted to say. (nt trying to be rude)

making the battle spear craftable for all characters, but at a higher cost (also requiring basic spaer) could work?
but your listed suggestion above also eems pretty great too c:
How about these Spear recipes to knock your socks off!
Spear + 2 rope + 4 hounds tooth or 4 bone shards
Spear + 2 rope + 2 silk + red gem
Spear + 2 rope + 2 silk + blue gem
Spear + 2 rope + 3 cutstone or 2 marble + 3 boards or 2 living logs
Icy spear slows enemies and decreases temperature by a small amount
Hot spear does much more damage than normal spear and increases temperature by a small amount
Fang/Bone studded Spear does slightly more damage than normal spear
Great spear is the last one.
Good ideas.

noerK, are you still contemplating developing this? I think that this is the best. Especially because it doesn't set things on fire, you really don't want to be near things that are on fire!
