Current Issues
There are some minor campaign aesthetic issues with the mod at the moment, but not anything gamebreaking. For example, you will notice the Master's halberd looks like it's sitting on his lap when on a Cold One for his campaign map model. This is unfortunetly a problem I can't fix, it has to do with a lack of a proper campaign animation for that weapon.

Another slight issue is when you choose the Repeater Crossbow option. It will turn your Master's campaign model to represent that he is wielding the crossbow (see images), but it won't change his model when you choose a mount in that same line. This is due to the Repeater Crossbow acting like a mount in it's own way, so it conflicts with the possibility of having a mount on a mount (heh).

Finally, the Master is unable to have his own recruitment menu or else the game will crash everytime you click the Recruit Hero button. This is nothing I can fix at the moment, it has to do with CA's hardcoding. To get around this, you can recruit the Master via the Khainite Assassin menu.

What about Sword & Crossbow Lords? They have mounts and their model updates accordingly, would it not be possible to use one of those models instead?

So do these guys and assassins share the same recruitment pool, or do they totally replace assassins?

They don't replace Assassins, you can recruit both from the Khainite Assassin recruitment menu.

There's a separate tab for Masters like for caster heroes with different schools of magic.
